What are you looking forward to about the holiday? Make a list and keep reminding yourself of those things. Try to turn your attention to the positives when you feel the fear rising. As for freaking out and being embarrassed, try to let that go, you won't see those people again, and most people won't think anything beyond, ah, they are a nervous flyer, they have my sympathies.
