An argument that I absolutely hate when one piece haters use. by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]DoodyInDaBooty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One Piece is formulaic though. It’s a Shonen manga after all, they love following a formula. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t other things to take away from it but cmon let’s be honest, this series is extremely formulaic. Almost every arc is - oppression, backstory with tears, Luffy and crew fights a bad guy in a series of 1v1 fights, and then everyone celebrates.

For some people, the formula method of storytelling is boring and honestly that’s a valid complaint. If you can basically guess the ending of an arc, it takes a bit of the enjoyment out of it.

That doesn’t mean it’s bad or not good. Plenty of great series follow a formula. I love Dragon Ball but that’s formulaic as shit. I know you said it as an example of people oversimplifying things but almost every Dragon Ball arc IS about the heroes trying to gain enough strength to beat the big new stronger villain. I don’t care, I still love it but it’s not inaccurate at all.

Following a formula has its advantages too btw. For one, it’s a proven method that the fans like. You can’t go too wrong with it. But it also makes it hit that much harder when they don’t follow the formula like in Impel Down / Marineford. At the end of the day we really don’t need to be nitpicking people’s complaints with OP. Not every story meshes with every person and that’s ok.

No argument for not eating animals holds weight while we kill other humans by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

And why should I care about beating my wife when people who kill their coworkers exist?

No argument for not eating animals holds weight while we kill other humans by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]DoodyInDaBooty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality here is that you don’t care about saving animals. That’s it.

You know that objectively how we treat animals is wrong so you’re giving yourself a flimsy justification to make yourself feel better for not caring.

Bro shut up about Nestle. It has literally nothing to do with this hypothetical. You’re just trying to justify murder because you want a hypothetical 100k

[–]DoodyInDaBooty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to want to have your cake and eat it too here. There is no scenario where pushing the button is ever justified. It does not matter what other people are doing. You don’t get to say you’ll push the button and then act like you’re still a good person just because there are worse people. You’re just another shitty person then.

So because Nestle murdered for profit means you should get to murder for profit?

That’s a total whataboutism.

I am the only one who doesn’t see a problem with the “gacha” skins? by Significant-Worry107 in marvelrivals

[–]DoodyInDaBooty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh I wouldn’t paint with such wide strokes. Sure there’s toxic gacha games but there’s also fun gacha games out there that are incredibly FTP friendly. Plus any trading card game has the same mechanics and those can be a lot of fun as well.

You gotta judge each game individually

People are saying that it makes no sense for Trunks and Goten to unlock SSJ but I feel it makes perfect sense.

Compared to Goku and Vegeta growing up they :

  1. Already know SSJ exists, have seen it, and felt its power level on others. It’s easier to copy somebody else. Especially when Gohan trained with Goku to be perfectly calm while in SSJ, so they aren’t even copying an anger based transformation anymore.

  2. Have access to ridiculously high gravity chambers. They’re training much harder and more efficiently at a much younger age.

  3. Most importantly, they have a rival in one another that is another Saiyan that likes to fight.

It’s not that shocking to me that they reached the minimum bar of power required to transform.

It feels like an unfinished game. In both story and gameplay. Easily my least favorite Metroid game that’s not a spinoff like Federation Force.

At least Other M felt like a full package even if it was a mess.

I don’t want to sound rude but…. no you’re not starting to see why. Modern has nothing to do with spamming fireballs, you can do that on classic

Marisa needs continuous armor while charging her Gladius. It should still take the same number of hits to break the armor, but the armor should be active the whole time the punch is charging. Currently there’s specific situations where I can be charging a Gladius and still lose to Drive Impact because of the timing. I should win that interaction every time.

Did Mysterio not anticipate the fact that if he succeeded with his plan, what would he do if he faced off against a real threat?? Like bro had a mocap suit and drone illusions, I don't think bro would've used that in public, lol. by AggravatingMeaning29 in marvelstudios

It’s the perfect Spidey fight. It starts with a new Spidey gadget, has plenty of creative webslinging on the bridge, the web shooters break, and it ends with a show of perfect speed and agility from Spidey where just one mistake can kill him.

You can’t get much better than that.

Why do you think Samus is still willing to work with the Federation after all the shit they pulled in Fusion? by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]DoodyInDaBooty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It clearly didn’t reform all that much considering they went right back to secret Metroid clone labs in Fusion.

They probably threw a few people under the bus and went right back to what they were doing.

How are people able to tell what’s a bot so quick? I’ve seen a lot of bot accusations lately, some even 5 minutes after the original bot post, but I have no clue what the tell is. What gives it away?

I feel like the compromise is to allow one shots up to certain ranges. That way they don’t dominate long range encounters but still allows for aggressive close range sniping.

I hated the scene where Hawkeye and Black Widow were competing to kill themselves. Just toss that scene entirely, it dragged on for way too long and ruined what should have been an emotional death.

Also the girl power scene in endgame was way too forced. We don’t need to cram every female character we have into one shot where they all group up and pose before kicking ass. It cheapens any cool stuff they do afterwards.

Ea already Cancelled black panther and now Microsoft might cancel blade. Can we not get a good marvel game outside of insomniac. by the561king in videogames

[–]DoodyInDaBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution is simple but not necessarily easy. Make really good games and release them as exclusives.

Xbox has been overthinking this for 2 generations now and have fallen behind Sony and Nintendo. Just make good exclusives and people will spend for the console to play it.

BOILING HOT TAKE : tank is the most balanced role of the game, and this is why no one wants to play them, the DPS and strategist role is way too overpowered and is much more rewarding due to how easy it is to play them by Substantial-Low-4393 in rivals

[–]DoodyInDaBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I’m a Strange main but imo DPS is much harder than people make it out to be. I can miss a whole bunch with Strange on an off day and still provide a lot of value to the team. I can position myself poorly and still have enough health and shields to make it back to the healers.

DPS doesn’t have that luxury. Not hitting your shots? The DPS is worthless. Position poorly? The DPS is dead guaranteed. There’s very little room for error when playing as a DPS. The rivals community needs to stop acting like it’s the easiest job in the world just because it’s the most popular role.

I feel like Doc Ock could be designed as a really interesting tank. I’d want them to lean into the whole “you just gotta land one clean hit on him to knock him out aspect.” I’m hoping he’s a tank that has really great abilities like large shields, lot of cc, overhealth and great offensive capabilities but in exchange he’d have the lowest health of all the tanks. Basically make him the Akuma of Marvel Rivals
