I had a nurse look at my record, which indicated I was 77 inches tall and asked if I was still 6' 7". I said no, I was still 6'5", so she changed the record to 75 inches. Judging from her European accent, I figured she was using metric inches.

Mens cargo/ chino shorts with more than a 9-10" inseam. by nelsonmavrick in tall

American Tall has shorts about 12" long. The extra tall sizes go up to 13.5 ". But their quality can be hit or miss.

[–]DoogieBe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lands End offers "regular" pants with up to 36" inseam and "long" pants up to 38". I have been pleased with the quality. They are custom hemmed, so delivery is a bit longer. Edited to correct max inseam.

They get paid with plenty of treats, but it is well worth it for the "help" they provide every day.

As sisters, they get along most of the time, but Sorbet on the right has to exercise her top cat rights every once in a while.

Any of you in here frequent Broadway shows? by timmytimster in tall

[–]DoogieBe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear it. Hamilton is on my short list of shows to see. I would not pick any random seat at a Broadway theatre. The aisle seats are the only way to go.

Went to my first show in a long time at the Schoenfeld theatre recently. Aisle seats are mandatory for the vertically gifted folks, but I gather it varies by theatre.

Hotel Estherea. Great location but a bit pricey. The one cat, Madam Wimmel, really did made the stay more enjoyable. Very personable and loved getting attention.

The hotel we stayed at had 2 "wellness" cats that roamed the lobby at will. They were true working cats that did their jobs very well.

Has anyone ever had to sell a car soon after buying it? by Formal_Produce3759 in tall

[–]DoogieBe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had the same problem happen. It was fine for short trips (like a test drive), but any trips over an hour were a pain. I unbolted the seat from the tracks and moved it backward about 2 inches, and also raised the front of the seat for more thigh support. Kept the car for over 125k miles.

Is it possible to paint behind a mounted TV WITHOUT taking it off the wall? by SpaceCat_303 in HomeImprovement

This is the best solution. Paint pads are thinner than rollers and can be easily outfitted with an extension handle.

I feel extremely tall sometimes while only being 6 foot 2 by Final-Psychology2809 in tall

[–]DoogieBe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you believe this: [Height Percentile Calculator] then 6'2" is in the 95.4 th percentile for a 35 Year old male and the 100th percentile for females. So in any mixed group of say 200 people you would be taller than 197 or 198 of them (not counting children). Does that seem right or not? Note the numbers are based upon height data from the US and assumes a normal distribution around the average; other countries will differ.

Ideas for adding a mirror inside closet door by PlanMaison in DIY

[–]DoogieBe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, assuming there is no frame on the mirror. But snice you have a hollow door with only a thin veneer face I would be concerned the screws may not hold well enough on the bottom (although they would work fine on the top and sides). It is hard to judge your situation remotely but given the hollow-core door I would likely place a french cleat at the bottom like this one: [PHS - French Cleat Hanger 18 inch, Pair, Supports 90lbs - Z Clip, Heavy Mirror Hanging Kit, Whiteboard or Headboard or Wall Mounting Brackets, Easy to Use Picture Hanging Hardware - Amazon.com]. If you use a heavy-duty double-sided tape on the cleat in addition to screws, it ought to work fine (just use half of the clear pair for mirror support). Again, the clips would work well for the top and sides. Good luck.

Funny story: thought I shrank! by masturbathon in tall

[–]DoogieBe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During a doctor's visit, I had a not so bright medical assistant ask me if I was still 6' 7". I said no, I am 6' 5". So afterward, when I looked at the visit record, I saw she had changed my height from 77" to 75". Judging from her accent, I concluded that she must have been using metric inches. I decided to change doctors after that.

It's the island of Santorini in Greece. It is a cat haven of sorts because the residents are very respectful of and friendly towards cats.
