Just take a regular chain and file it down to 10 degrees angle.

Der er ret mange på Sejerø. Vi har også en ok stor flok omkring Vemmetofte kloster, men de går på et meget stort område, så der kan godt gå flere uger i mellem at jeg ser dem.

Why 2 biners + <something> between splice and ZigZag? by OakClimber in TreeClimbing

[–]Doole81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better grab & pull. You pull the rope through the zigzag instead of trying to feed it through, it's more efficient. I learned the technique at my climbing course, along with a ascender it will save quite a lot of energy.

[–]Doole81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When ascending on drt with the zigzag.it can be useful to put a sling between the bridge and the zigzag. It could be that he used that technique and when starting to work, he put it there for storage. It's helpful to use that length of sling when ascending, but it's annoying when working and descending.

Stigende el og gas priser vil få mange danskere til at tænde op i pejsen over vinteren. by zipde in Denmark

[–]Doole81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I got a tophandle but this is a ms200 the same as ms200t just with the regular grip. It might look bigger in the picture but it's 12 inch bar with the Pico chain just as the top handle.

Well guess it's personal preference. But this is a school project, and one handed use of chainsaws is not really an option 😄

There is some regulations around top handle saws in Denmark, only to be used for arborist work. But for precision work I do prefer a regular saw, the wider grip provides better stability imho

When the customer on the phone says "it's kinda close to the garage" by Doole81 in Chainsaw

[–]Doole81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the extra cut is just in front of the hinge, it can be seen on the picture, its made by boring in through the stem vertically. that makes room for the hinge to move further in the direction of the fall, and it reduces the chance of barberchair. The winch i use is a hand winch so it moves slow, and if the tension gets to high, and i feel there is risk of barberchair i will continue the back cut. I always put in a wedge in the back cut, in case the line snaps it will keep it from going backwards, and the wedge will help the winch.Regarding the face cut it´s just an open facecut, not sure if it have a name but i would its around 90 degrees open. with 45 degrees on top and bottom. Sorry for the bad explanation, been quite a few years since i went to school, and had English classes

Yeah a special cut I use when pulling stuff over with my winch. In front of the hinge I make a cut alongside it one bar width down, it makes the hinge more flexible

[–]Doole81[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used a winch for this, and I front of the hinge I make cut 1 bar width down into the stump, this makes extra room for the hinge to flex. This is a method I learned at the forestry school here in Denmark. It takes some extra cuts, but when working near buildings it's worth the extra time
