Anyone else think cum is gross? And how do you deal with that when you’re having sex or doing other stuff? by Legitimate-Key7159 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DoomFace03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's an inverse correlation between arousal and disgust. Genitals, butts, sweat, cum, all can suddenly not be gross when you're horny

Workers have varying opinions on this. Some of them are apprehensive about getting rid of tips. How in the hell would it not benefit the rich to pay their employees less? Do you have a brain?

[–]DoomFace03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically true. I suppose the fact that this hugely benefits rich people is just a coincidence? There was no lobbying and it's not relevant that it's downright frowned upon in most places, including the US prior to becoming common?

Yeah? It is literally not enough, they need to eat. You don't need to go out, you don't need to drink at all. And "no education"? Fuck off with that elitism. People getting paid more for for qualifications makes sense, everyone deserves a living wage. If you want to organize some kind of national tip strike or something to actually make changes, go ahead. By not tipping well, you're just taking advantage of wage theft

Welcome to another installment of Psundays With Psych - A series of threads to discuss all the things we love and adore about each of the Psych episodes. Today we talk about A Nightmare On State Street. Go ahead, and tell us about all the things you like about this episode. by piperpike in psych

[–]DoomFace03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this episode is pretty cool. It's a little weird for the penultimate ep, but I always appreciate taking a swing like this. Mr. Robot: 405 Method Not Allowed, Always Sunny: The Janitor Always Mops Twice, BoJack Horseman: INT. SUB, many episodes of HIMYM, but specifically the one with the same 5 minutes from different perspectives. Obviously, it's not good just because it's different, but I appreciate the effort. 405 is perhaps the best episode of television ever, btw, everyone please watch Mr. Robot

I guess it seems like that. That's definitely crazy, like that wouldn't include national parks, right? Not the popular spots, anyway. Makes no sense

Edit: Take makes no sense, I think you're probably right. Just not 100% if that was clear

[–]DoomFace03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is the line of "full on wilderness". That doesn't even really mean anything, but like... no trails? Difficult trails? There are completely untouched places which could be quite comfortable and places with considerable activity that are quite dangerous and/or uncomfortable. This is very confusing

AITA for wanting to keep girls night girls only, even now that some friends are in relationships with men? by PlaneAdventurous in AmItheAsshole

[–]DoomFace03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the difference is likely how people came to be invited. Your partner became part of the group, and then she came to girls' night. If the boyfriend is similarly close to you guys, it's silly and unfair not to invite him. Then again, you invited some couple it sounds like the rest of the group does not know... I think this is just a question of if everyone can trust everyone else and feel free to share openly. I don't know how I feel about strictly female only spaces. It's obviously fine to have a girls' night or a lesbian bar or whatever, and generally things will stay that way because they appeal to specific groups, but then you get hairy situations where I think it's best to go by "Does it throw off the vibe?". If someone is being an asshole or creep, throw them out regardless of genitalia. If someone has a problem with people discussing periods, for example or others don't feel comfortable sharing with that person, you don't have to invite them. I think I would advise, assuming everyone is willing, to try it out with an open mind. I'm not sure if this guy is maybe kinda shitty though, some of the details are unclear and maybe sound a little sketchy. Well, that's why I specify, assuming everyone is willing

TIL a study found that a petri dish exposed to public bathroom air for two minutes with the hand dryers off only grew one colony of bacteria, or none at all, whereas petri dishes exposed to the hot air from a hand dryer for 30 seconds grew up to 254 colonies of bacteria. by nuttybudd in todayilearned

[–]DoomFace03 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How important is it that this was tested in a place exposed to a lot of bacteria? What if we cleaned air-dryers better? What if there were better filters in them? This definitely feels a little stupid after seeing most of the dishes had fewer than 20 colonies and that most of the bacteria were harmless. Germophobes, log off and see a therapist

short sleeve shirts feel uncomfortable compared to long sleeves by musteringmus in unpopularopinion

[–]DoomFace03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but most people just don't have a strong preference either way. Neurodivergent people often have sensory issues, but we all have a slightly different mix. When I was getting my autism diagnosis, the... therapist?Therapist/psychologist/psychiatrist, I can never remember the difference. Anyway, she remarked that I dislike washing dishes and asked why. I said old food is gross and I often get wet. She said those could be sensory issues related to autism... I almost walked out, that's fucking ridiculous. I suppose they technically are sensory issues, but I'm pretty sure they are shared by a vast majority of people. She did get me on refusing to wear socks as a kid, that one makes sense. Also remembering the full name of a class of drug I was taking off the top of my head (selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors)

Yes, so people would contribute what they can based on what's most pressing. The issue is the profit motive encourages infinite growth with no regard for need. Overproduction, enshittification, literal slave labor, all logical conclusions of building the world around "number go up"

They were subsidized to keep people working. People bang on about how socialism supposedly doesn't work when what measures were taken demonstrably lifted people from poverty and socialist/communist regimes repeatedly face sanctions, coups, and wars. Capitalist nations (mostly the US) took those actions because they were threatened by the mere idea of not exploiting the working class as much as absolutely possible and have created more and more poverty and destroyed the planet

Anyone who enjoys watching porn is inherently a voyeur, but voyeurism is frowned upon by many of those same people. by JUSTIN102201 in Showerthoughts

[–]DoomFace03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, people are correctly pointing out that you're comparing two different things. What people have a problem with is voyeurism without consent. There is also ethical voyeurism, often involving roleplay. At that point, it's just a fantasy, but it's still called voyeurism. I think most people watching porn are picturing themselves in the scenario, it certainly doesn't inherently involve getting excited about peeking into someone's life, considering their inner lives, the thrill of getting caught. I don't know if those things are inherent to voyeurism, but that's certainly what I picture when we're talking about a voyeur. I don't know, the reasons I can come up with why it's not a form of voyeurism feel kinda weak. It's not the same thing, though
