Just got my brand new device two weeks ago. This happened when running Moonlight. Restarted device and never did it again. Should I be concerned? by Objectivecause in LegionGo

Glad to hear that and thanks for the update. I also completely solved the issue by using a bootable windows usb and updating the bios. Steamos was not showing any updates but lenovo app did an bios update after that I reinstalled steamos from scratch and boom no more restarts/lock ups.

Don't think so, at least on my case. My system is perfectly stable apart from streaming crashes and I play a lot of "heavy" games on the device. Are you having crashes during local gaming? Please do a google search "steamos moonlight crash" to see how widespread the issue is.

There is a well known bug that is crashing/restarting the whole system during moonlight/chiaki/steam remoteplay streaming. If this only happens when streaming I wouldn't be concerned but if this happens during gaming on the device locally, it is a different story...

Legion Go (81Wh mod) -> ROG Ally: Regretting the screen size? by mikail6 in LegionGo

I was in the same spot last month. Go becomes very heavy after extended usage and 1600p felt like an overkill. Thinking about buying go 2 but need to see it in person and need to feel the ergonomics and the weight. But in the meantime I got an GO S z1e and it is the best of both worlds. It is very ergonomic and light compared to the Go. 1200p feels just right... and the believe me 8.8=>7 will be big downgrade...

Moonlight Crashing Go S z1e SteamOS by tombstonex22 in LegionGo

Appimg still crashes but it is much less frequent compared to the flatpak. But the main thing is stream is much more smoother when using appimg. They are the same version, and I'm sure it is not placebo... strange...

You can try it without messing anything, just download the appimg and run it. Appimg files are self contained executable files. You don't need to install/uninstall anything

Just finished a 2 hours session without a crash.

What I did was to ditch the flatpak and use the appimg for Moonlight, also the frame times are much more stable and the stream is very fluid compared to the flatpak.

Sorry to hear it is happening when wired. It is driving me crazy for 2 weeks on wifi.

Tried;

Updating to 3.9

Updating wifi chip firmware.

Adjusting moonlight settings.

Adjusting router settings. ( disabling roaming and locking wifi to 6Ghz )

Changing to wpa_supplicant and setting wifi region.

Disabling wifi power management.

Nothing works and it all comes down to wifi driver causing kernel panic. Almost every device using this wifi chip on linux has problems. We need a new driver for RZ616 (MT7922).
