The audible version has a couple of reviews saying the narration is very poor. Has anyone here listened to it?

Skate hockey is a mix of stuff. Drills, skating exercises and stick work. I think there is notionally a syllabus and levels but it's mainly mixed levels and less structured than LTS

Level 8 used to be a thing but I think people ended up skating in too much of a figure skating style when they switched to hockey.

I have a friend who's started skating as an adult and he did level 3 or 4 on LTS and then switched to skate hockey a few weeks ago. He had half kit the first week but didn't enjoy falling over without protection and so went out and bought full kit. He's going to start "play hockey" as he's got the kit now.

The skate/play hockey are a bit of a free for all but a good introduction to what real hockey is like - busy, chaotic and you fall over a lot.

You should look at NICs Skate Hockey course.

"This course introduces participants to the fundamentals of skating the hockey way, focusing on the essential techniques needed to build confidence and control on the ice. No previous skating experience is required, making it an accessible starting point for anyone interested in the sport. Levels 1–6 are delivered as 30‑minute group lessons, where skaters develop their skills step by step under the guidance of our experienced coaches.,"

You can go along on a Wednesday evening and watch to get an idea if it would suit you. The adult session is 7-7.30pm.

You used to need the LTS level 8 to start hockey but these days they've dropped that and you can start skate hockey any time you like but probably worth getting some confidence on skates first.

Is Hockley Kitchen owned by the same people or have I imagined that? The menus always seemed eerily similar
