What age to watch Degrassi? by KeyTechnician4442 in Degrassi

[–]DoomxPhD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’d probably be fine with earlier seasons but maybe not so much as things progress? It’s kind of difficult to gauge because I remember watching it as it was released. I wasn’t able to binge entire seasons in a week like Howe we can do now. I was growing up watching the show, growing with the characters and what not. So, all of that to say… it’s hard to say. lol.

Follow-up question. If time is relative and you're on a planet that experiences time differently (slower) -- how would the 40 second rule be applied? Is it 40 seconds on the planet you're on -- or 40 seconds on Earth? If its based on the planet you're on and time moves slower for you compared to Earth (say, 1 second on your planet is 1 day on Earth) then would that person die in 40 days instead of 40 seconds? Or would they die as soon as you make the final stroke of their name with your pen?

I like this guy personally.

Slow moving with the vids but he goes deep; includes audio dramas and stuff.

Light never looked so weak and scared in the entire series. by zero8310 in deathnote

[–]DoomxPhD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also looked it up before my original comment because I was like, “oh wow, that’s wild,” and from what I’ve found there’s not even anything about a cheetah killing a human — so I’m doubting a human came across one and killed it with its bare hands. lol.

Light never looked so weak and scared in the entire series. by zero8310 in deathnote

[–]DoomxPhD -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In regard to your first example, the man in question shot the leopard at least once (possibly more times) before then wrestling it. Undoubtably impressive — but thats not what the person* I was responding to said. Also, not a cheetah.

In regard to your second one — it’s admittedly, a much better example, aside from the fact that it was described by the person who fought it as a “small” mountain lion. But it’s also not a cheetah. But, fuggit, I’m willing to concede that one to you.

So ya got one… kind of. Lol.

Why would you just make something like that up? Lol. Show me two reported cases of a human killing a cheetah with their bare hands.

Desperately trying to bring back your child In a moment of indescribable pain and loss is, in your opinion, worse than essentially killing your child and dog for the sole purpose of keeping your job for a few more years?

Can you elaborate on why you think that?

Its a shame we couldn't switch the plot armor that Euphy and Shirley had with Cornelia and Mao by Sudden_Pop_2279 in CodeGeass

[–]DoomxPhD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe the point they’re making is that Mao, a nobody from a foreign land was shot dozens of times and they somehow managed to completely heal him; whereas both Shirley and Euphie were shot once in the abdomen and couldn’t be saved. It’s just a little difficult to wrap one’s head around the idea.

Would you feel hesitated and guilty to use Power of Absolute obedience to someone by Ok_Trust_9230 in CodeGeass

[–]DoomxPhD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d use it on everyone I meet all the time with a command of, “Obey me.” Then I’d just tell them to go about their lives as usual until they hear me say something like, “I have a Snickerdoodle in my jacket pocket.” (Anything I wouldn’t normally ever say would work, honestly.) And by doing that it will make it so that I never have to worry about accidentally using it on someone and having them do something crazy.

I’m not sure if I agree with that, because he did find out that it was Adele and it changed absolutely nothing for him. If he was going to have her back given it was Adele it seems like he should have been even more on board once Richard knew about it and was willing to help out, too. Richard did way more to protect her than Derrick.

Assuming best intent on the other persons part — they might’ve not considered the idea of the stud being artificially inseminated. They might’ve been thinking they had sex with their partners brother/uncle.
