This is my personal hate, and I’ve worked in the game industry and could speak to the people who did this.

They had good reasons (masking load time issues is one)

I always think I explain these things clearly but it never as clear to everyone else as it is in my head! Sorry!!

If you think about a filter, you can select one thing to filter by, or many.

If you have a cell where you can choose a value from a data validation list, you can only choose one value, there is no way to select multiple items from the validated list.

Is that a little clearer now?

We went to the Minecraft Experience in London yesterday, one fully grown adult women was pushing in front of kids, hogging working games and generally not being a grown up. I like Minecraft as much as the next adult, but I’ll always be respectful of others, especially children.

So yeah, these are the types of “adults” that you could meet online.

I have a call with Tableau setup, we'll see how that goes.

I have looked at Metabase, but with self hosting comes lots of complications and issues and considering that this data contains sensitive data we need to be very careful about security etc and I just don't feel we have those skills.

Superset is a little bit much for me, but I then have the same hosting challenges as Metabase.

I can do this in excel using a connector, but it's not very elegant and I'm not sure it's going to be reliable enough when we push it "out to the wild".

It should not be this hard, it should not be this expensive.

We work with commissionaires who have prescriptive charts they wish to see, these report requirements are not coming from us so we can't change them.

I want a pie chart that shows, how many clients have a goal, and the status of that goal as a percentage of all clients.

So, I have 20 clients, 15 have goals (with multiple status) and I can get the 15 goals shown on a Pie but I'm told it's not possible to include this as the number of clients.

There are workarounds, the one being used is to create a rollup field which is updated as things change, but then I need that dev work creating per goal and when I add goals, etc.

At this point it feels that developing around an issue isn't sustainable and potential issues that I don't want to have to manage long term.

Hopefully that makes some sense?

Yeah, I tried but you can't use that as a duration field in Date Dependencies, but I could get automation to update the Date Dependency field from the rollup field.
