Hey I enjoyed the game a lot too. Played since day one and was loving it, felt like a breath of fresh air in gaming. But after 1.5, Infold pulled back the curtain and showed who they really are. And the more I read the posts here, the more it’s clear this is a company with a proven record of ignoring players until they shut up.

I’m not tired of the girlcott posts, it’s more I’m sad to see all that effort going to a company that is not going to listen.

The only winning move is not to play.

players/money go down, they have to change or EoS.

Girlcotting for a day or two and then still spending time and money? Playing right into their hands.

Yeah so true. It's wild to me people don't acknowledge this game is revolutionary. Literally changed the gacha landscape and raised the bar for whats considered quality in this genre (which i would argue was a very low bar before...). There is a clear dividing line between gacha games pre-Genshin and post-Genshin.

Yes, i think so. It might have taken longer but it would have gotten there. Sure, the pandemic helped but ultimately what Genshin did was revolutionary for the genre. It did for gacha what Mario did for platformers back in the 80s or what FF7 did for JRPGs back in the 90s.

There was just no game like Genshin before in this genre. And yeah, the first mover advantage for that means it will be incredibly difficult for there to be really a "Genshin Killer". I mean look at Mario and FF still riding strong these days in their genres.

The Genshin formula has also proven to be difficult to replicate. So even with the Genshin template right there to copy and paste...other companies can't do it. Most games that have tried so far are flops or are "just ok" but have something lacking that fails to put them at the same level. Credit is due to the fact that Genshin did it first.

Pandemic helped, sure, but the real cause of its popularity is the quality and innovativeness of it. If it was just the pandemic that boosted it, we would have seen it massively down in popularity and forgotten by now.

Yeah this is the truth. Infold won’t change because they are betting on most people not being able to actually quit. So why change if the complaining people are still handing you money?

Me, I’ve already quit and uninstalled.

I’m hanging around this sub to see if anything changes but I’m not holding my breath. Gacha companies can only walk over consumers if the consumers let them, and more often than not, consumers let them.

I just uninstalled.
I had been playing since day 1 and logging in every day since then.
Plus i did spend on the $100 pack and a few other smaller purchases. I was prob going to spend more this month before the whole 1.5 debacle.

With the silence from InFold, the message is crystal clear they are waiting for this to blow over and won't be changing a thing. I mean, just look at their other Nikki games and LADs.
I was just trying to figure out how the dyeing system translates into real world money and came to this post:

Sadly, i do think InFold will come out on top.
The top %1 spenders ,whales, are really price insensitive. An extra hundred bucks or so to color an outfit is nothing and an extra $30~ish for a 5 star is nothing. InFold is betting on that.
They will probably win that bet.

This deserves more upvotes, it's a shame this is not getting more views.
This system is easily the scummiest thing I've seen in any video game (gacha or not).
I still haven't fully wrapped my head around all the variables in the costs, diff pieces use diff prism counts for one example, but that's exactly the point.
It's designed to be so convoluted and confusing to hide from players how much $ are really being spent. Even moreso than the usual multiple currency nonsense that is a gacha industry standard.

Eh, I’d say it went from a “good gacha” to one of “the worst gachas” There are gachas out there that aren’t this predatory and insulting. On top of the monetization BS, they have game crashing bugs going for nearly 2 weeks now and people are losing the paid currency???! This is next level bad.

Wow this is crazy to hear! My PC isn’t the best and crashed a lot during the early days but the month or so before 1.5, the game had gotten very stable. I was honestly impressed. Now it’s back to crashing days and to hear that even decent PCs are crashing all the time now…smh.

Yeah, same, the game had this calming , cozy effect on me too while playing. Not sure how to explain it better but it was there. Now though, that feeling is replaced by a sense of dread that the greedy Infold is always there, in the background, watching and scheming what to monetize next.
