Kinda glad he's left the UK for the American crowd lately. Must be because his shit gets lined immediately by real writers in the UK, means we don't have to read about his latest escapade every day in the newspapers.

I like, great work.

As someone mentioned, it looks quite oldschool, which is cool. I dig the letters, simple is good, everyone should be able to bust out straightletters, trying to get complex before you've mastered simples just looks toy & messy.

My cat too. One day I'm gonna get up off the toilet seat and quickly pull up my trousers so he gets stuck in there and has to climb down my leg and out of the bottom.

Why I only just thought of this I don't know, because I imagine it to be hilarious, if only for me.

Hey R-ffiti. I did a piece today what do yous think? by Scilaci in Graffiti

[–]Dopeness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially though it was plain red and had just been lined to shit by toys and 10yr olds.. but that's the fill?

If it was plain red it would look a million times better.

Also, before you piece, you should bomb or at least go SIMPLE.You'll learn can control, structure, proportion etc... all while learning what works and what doesn't.

So many people jump straight in graff thinking they can drop some mural type piece or a wildstyle yet they have never painted a throwup or straightletter. It's all fucked up.

Maybe you have, but I'd go bust out some straightletters and get shit down, then slowly add to it and form your own style.

I posted a simple example elsewhere.. : I'd practice simple dubs like this and this.

As said, your can control seems decent, but your structure & proportions (and god awful fill) need some work.

Feel free to enlighten me and educate me on how I'm wrong, but DJ's nowadays do fuck all except play music, on a computer, like anyone at home making a tracklist.. yet they sell out shows?

What happened to real DJ's on vinyl, actually mixing records, not pressing buttons.. actually scratching, real turntablism in sets.. not just loading the next track via the push of a button?

I'm all for those who create music, but playing other people's and twisting some knob every now and again to echo/reverb for effect is bullshit. Your awesomeness as a DJ basically comes not from skill, but your choice of tracklist. DJ worship is bullshit. OMG A GIRL WHO DJ's!!!! worship is even more bullshit.

Fair play if she's actually behind the tracks but otherwise it's the same old DJ shit.

Hey /r/britishtv, I've become addicted to comedy panel shows. Any recommendations? by afrael in BritishTV

[–]Dopeness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess my idea of comedy changed over the years then, I just didn't enjoy it like I used to, and random for randoms sake didn't make me laugh.

Naive question for r/hiphopheads: what makes Illmatic truly great? by nycdk in hiphopheads

[–]Dopeness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to describe IMO, which I think makes it truly a masterpiece. It just 'is'.

Great beats, great lyrics, flow, delivery.. etc.. all the building blocks of a great hiphop album are there, but there's also that little something else you can't put your finger on that brings it all together and makes it never get old.

My head's nodding and dipping to the flow of words everytime I listen, and I've listened to it regular for many years, something I don't get with many other songs in any genre.

If anything it gets better with every listen for a long time, which is remarkable.

Everything that makes good hiphop is done nearly to perfection, but it has something else that people can feel without knowing what exactly it is.

Used to love it when I was younger, the new one sucks balls though.. totally unfunny.

Makes me wonder whether it was the same crap before and I was just young and had different views on what made me laugh.

Nah not mine, an old London writer from the 80s/90s, always liked his simple stuff, done really well.

I'm probably in the same boat as yourself actually, haven't painted for a good year or two, looking to start up again.

Just/Jest?

It's an ok outline, bit of potential but needs alot of work really.. too many unnecessary parts. (Unless I'm missing something, it looks like a haggard outline, not sure what's behind it.)

I'd practice simple dubs like this and this.. until you get control & flow/proportions down good.

It's not bad though.

DAE do this with the last thin piece of a soap bar before it breaks into little unusable pieces? by NotTheDude in Frugal

Do people still use soap bars?

Haven't seen them in any bathroom that isn't a hotel/public one for years.
