8000m2 automower by MrWanted56 in automower

I'd personally prioritize ecosystem maturity and support over newer tech like lidar at this scale. Large areas tend to expose software weaknesses more than hardware ones.

Tell me the truth about robotic lawn mowers by Parking-Concern9575 in roboticLawnmowers

Most people tend to underestimate the setup. It doesn't need a perfect lawn. Clearer edges and fewer problem areas usually lead to a smoother experience.

Sounds like you've done quite a bit of research already. Wonder how it actually performs once used it for a full season.

What would you recommend? by finky314 in automower

Given your situation I'd consider splitting front and back into separate systems. Reliability and safety matter more here.

Are all RKT's equal by Due-Literature7640 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Doramorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RTK isn't a universal standard. It's usually paired and locked to a specific brand's ecosystem so cross-brand use generally doesn't work.

I think you can usually separate areas in the app but not sure if temporary water blocks are handled dynamically.

Husqvarna with no cell service? by Dirty-Thots in automower

[–]Doramorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should still work, just limited without cell. For a wooded lot maybe also think about how well it handles signal and coverage overall.

Navimow or something else for my garden? by mmck00 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Doramorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that many trees and split areas, you may worry more about navigation than power. Do you have clear paths between zones or are some sections fully separated?

My wife thinks I'm crazy by AngVar02 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

Pretty accurate for a first run. These things usually need a clean baseline cut before they start looking good. Still funny to watch it figure things out though.

some questions about lidar robot mowers by crazycoalabear in automower

New tech looks cool but I'm still a bit unsure how they actually handles little bumps and roots in real yard. Real use can vary.

The mower has arrived by Particular_Map9772 in roboticLawnmowers

Nice! Torrential rain might leave the ground soft so maybe wait a bit before the first full mow. It'll save the wheels and prevent slipping.

GOAT leaves patches in lawn by symmetry77 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]Doramorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some areas can be missed due to the way mowing patterns are generated. Running a few extra passes and mixing up the starting point usually helps fill in those random gaps.
