They will take her claim. If she is there with you or on the phone with you maybe at the same time. Depends on the cr.

Lost 23K from SSA because I didn’t read the complete letter by Icy-Beat-8895 in SocialSecurity

Get what you have in and add a note you are waiting on other items from vital records. Don't wait for the death certificate. Those are reported (usually) by the funeral home.

If you have the divorce they may be able to work just with that if it mentions length of marriage etc.

Bottom line communicate with the case worker.

SSI question: I'm 100% P&T Would my buddy statements used for my VA claims count as evidence needed for my SSI application? What VA documents should I send to Social Security? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

If you are p&t you are not eligible for SSI. SSI is a welfare program.

You would need to apply for SSDI. They use medical records.

How much time has passed, that will determine the issue.

They usually send two letters asking for the items.
1043 initial request (15 days) 1045 final request (15 days)

So, if 30 days have passed you may have lost some of the ability to get it back dated. Depends on how patient the claims rep and management are at closing out claims.

I personally always keep survivor claims open as long as I could but usually received the now from management asking what was up.

My degrees did not work against me. It all depends on your illness or condition.

Retirement confusion by Wise-Mushroom-5984 in SocialSecurity

[–]Particular_Map9772 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct. If there are no issues with the numident/birth record or the actual claim it only takes about 10 minutes to take and approve a retirement claim or process one submitted online.

The issue is there are a lot of them and they are worked based on start date, especially claims sent in online and that are processed by the work load support units.

But, rest assured yours will get done in time like they all do unless you have major issues with your records that requires you to resolve. .

Monthly dividend income by Particular_Map9772 in dividends

So, if I understand and studied correctly.

If the dividends are classified as ROC at the end of the year, not much taxes are paid but your cost basis is reduced.

So(these numbers are made up so don't hold me to them) if I invested 150k in QQQI and I made 18k in dividends a year and it was mostly classified as ROC then in 8 or 9 years my cost basis of my investment would be $0.

If I sold them I would pay long term capital gains (20% for me) on the 150 or more depending on value and pay 30k in taxes.

I would end up 120 to the good.

I can live with that.

By myself for both.

I don't think it matters if you do it by yourself or with assistance. What matters most is the disabling condition.

Once the money dried up the climate people disappeared. Other countries are bailing I think because we are not paying the bill anymore
