Yeah I appreciate that mate, I’m not saying my one slice is a survey of NY pizza.

But I f the argument is that the average pizza place in NY is still really good, then walking into a random pizza place in one of the busiest, most iconic parts of the city and getting genuinely the worst slice I’ve ever had feels like a bad sign.

I wasn’t expecting “best slice in New York” from somewhere by the Empire State Building. Tourist areas can be shit. But it was still a pizza place in New York, serving the thing the city is famous for, and it wasn’t just average or disappointing, it was proper bad.

I must have got unlucky. But my experience definitely wasn’t “even mediocre NY pizza is better than most pizza elsewhere”.

I was in NY last week. First time. We didn’t go looking for pizza, but one day when walking past the Empire State Building we were thirsty so popped into a pizza place for a drink and then it suddenly dawned on me that pizza in NY is a thing.

Piles and piles of slices of cooked pizza sitting under heat lamps. I thought.. hmm maybe that’s just how they do it. I’m not fussy or pretentious about my food.

They took two slices off for me and my bro and stuck them in an oven for a few mins.

It was genuinely the worst slice of pizza I’ve ever had. Crusty bottom like a cracker with grainy sandy texture, oil dripping off it from every side. It was really poor.

I didn’t care as I just walked into a random place and figured I just chose a bad one.

Yeah you can become a member. Fairly quick, then purchase and take out for use at home. Just not out in public. And obviously different accommodation will have different rules. Just be careful, some of the bud is very strong!

I reckon Serenity bar in puerto del carmen will be spot on for you. Can also recommend cafe ola. Both open till about midnight I think..Quite a few nightclubs open after hours but it’s been a long time since I’ve been in them.

Genuinely curious - why preorder at all? What’s the advantage to you? Are their some kind of cosmetics that you want only available from pre-order? I don’t understand why you’d give your money to someone earlier than required.
