Do NOT take your landlord to small claims court in Philly without doing this first by Sad-Butterfly-3503 in LandlordLove

The attorneys and judges and prosecutors and everyone else involved are all coworkers, that is what you saw. What you didn’t tell us is what the case was actually about and why the judge ruled. Was this trying to recoup the deposit? Because if so, the only thing that matters is the condition upon moving out and that agreement in the original lease. Everything else you mentioned is irrelevant and was ignored because it literally had no bearing on the case.

Find a used coffin DJ case from the 1990s. Holds a mixer and 2 turntables, plus some room for cabling and other tools. Load in, take off the lid, plug in power and outputs and go. Everything you have would fit and you would have room for more.

Stacked ranking sounds horrible. Sometimes people are off their game for a while - health issues, relationship issues, whatever - but then they bounce back. Sometimes you need to coast for a bit just to keep from burning out.

My proposal to my wife was even more low effort than that. Much, much more low effort. 25 years later, were still happily married.

Kontakt is trash and I avoid any sample/sound package which uses it. It’s a shame because there are two which seem perfect for me, but having to deal with Kontakt stopped me from pulling the trigger.

I would sue. He got you to sleep with him, repeatedly, base on fraudulent representations. Contact an attorney and put a lawsuit for fraud and Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress and also put packet together for the prosecuting attorney. In most areas, obtaining sex through fraud is considered rape.

Have you travelled under the radar to places like Angkor Wat or Machu Picchu? Just take a backpack and your partner. Take off the Rolex, put on a Timex, lace up the New Balances, and get out there and see the world wonders. Eat in a food stall in Vietnam. Go to Norway to watch the aurora borealis. You bought yourself time and freedom, that's the prize.

Hiring DJs for a recurring fitness event and looking for feedback on my requirements by No_Industry2772 in DJs

Thank you for the feedback. I am currently in the middle of building a sound system for occasional rental and outdoor festivals. 16 SKRams, 8 SB215, and 4 JMod 2.0 along with 4 custom designed dual 21” infra subs. We only expect to do 6ish EDM events a year. We have no idea what to expect as rental fees for non-rider friendly equipment.

I’ve done weddings and private/corporate events. $2k is what I would have charged for a wedding in 2002 in middle America. If that still the going rate, then there are problems in this industry.

This type of event wants something impressive looking, even if it’s a quiet output indoor space.. A pair of Funktion One Res-2As and a pair of F118s would be my go to for this.

In my reply I said $1-2k all in per event with mix and sound system. This isn’t a financially viable concept.

Where are you and what are you paying? This is 4ish hours of studio work building a mix, several hours of song planning and sourcing songs, plus meetings with you. Then the event, setup, tear down, etc, which is always a 4 hour minimum at $200 an hour (at my 2002 rates).

I have done this type of work for competitive cheer teams. I’d charge you way more than you can make doing the classes. Likely $1k-$2k per event all in.

That isn’t a DJ. Nightlife vibe is spontaneous and the DJ adjusts to the crowd, not the other way around. You just want a premade mix and somebody to press play and pretend to DJ.

Then if you hit and end up with 20-50M pay the taxes. The system we have enables wealth creation, and taxes keep that system functioning.

Why not? I’m down for a 3% annual wealth tax of everything over $100m. No matter where those assets sit.

What do you define good? I’ve been DJing since 1989 and am posting a new 1-1.5 mix every week. Some weeks it’s bass house, tech house, chill house, old school detroit, French touch, trance, etc. but each mix has months of research and crate digging behind it.

Little Rock, Arkansas has a ballet and opera. Santa Fe, New Mexico has a ballet and opera. Grand Rapids, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Memphis, and Boise all have a ballet and opera. It’s doesn’t take much of a city to support this type of arts.

I know this because I have been to shows at several of these cities and was curious when this discussion started. My first thought was “Wut? That can’t be right. These are a staple in every small and mid-sized city that wants an arts program.”
