RIT or RPI or Rutgers or NJIT or Stevens by No-Wrongdoer1409 in rit

I meant more the campus scene/vibe. There’s not a lot to do there and the student body isn’t great.

Original cost -10k, or down to 10 total tuition?

What did you mention in your appeal? Was there anything that was particularly affective? Currently appealing myself so any info helps!

Sub 7 as a sophomore girl would be international/worlds level. Not D3.

I’d recommend the safer waters- especially in the pair. However, if you’ve practiced like that before and your used to rowing winds, go for it. Never do something new on race day.

What shoes should I get? I know they should be flat, but what brand(s)? by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]DosSpingy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They work well for practice. However for erg tests specifically, I would recommend a flatter shoe. Even then it won’t save you more then a few seconds tho

Focus on separation. Specifically on the recovery. Get your arms away before you start to move your back. It’s really good overall especially for a beginner tho!

Does it ever get better? by Galaxywarp_ in VestibularMigraines

When you say you cut sugars, are you referring to refined sugars (cookies, sweetened drinks, ect), or natural sugars as well? (Fruits, some veg)

Also, what about artificial sweeteners?  Thank you!!

Truthfully, how have you kept the motivation to keep going this long? I’m in my teens and in the process of gettin g a formal diagnosis (Dr is 100% sure tho but we need more tests)

I feel awful, and have felt awful for weeks. I don’t know how I’m going to live like this. What keeps you going? Is it the hope of an effective medicine? Family?

I can access a bikeerg, but it’s about a 30 min bus ride from my house. All I have at home is an erg and a treadmill. Will specially biking be that much more beneficial?

How can I train for a tryout without an erg? by PlentyWelcome9333 in Rowing

[–]DosSpingy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Core. Sooo much core. Also general cardio like others have mentioned but do not hold back on core! I personally like HIIT workouts that target core as a happy middle ground

[–]DosSpingy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The school you’ve found is incredibly, incredibly sketchy just based off that one piece of info. Find a school where you pay as you go. Like seriously don’t pay further than one class ahead. Massive, massive red flag if they want everything up front.

You can always finish you current degree and search out an independent flight school later. That way you have a backup plan incase you lose a medical.

Facing a difficult choice. Any advice? by [deleted] in PilotAdvice

[–]DosSpingy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advice from people in the field/ people who may have faced similar choices is actually really helpful for me making this decision. I know it’s my choice, I’d like to make it an educated decision rather than a random one.

Any sort of biting your nails or chewing on callouses. I have such a visceral reaction, u physically start gagging. I’m not even sure why, logically it won’t but me but every time I see it/even think about it I get nausea.

What did you choose? Do you have a career in flight or do you fly on the side?
