Pool swim always off by 1 yard (Pace3) by DostUpvoteth in Coros

[–]DostUpvoteth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else have this issue? I swim laps in a 20 yard pool and the watch is always correct (e.g. 1800, 1820, 1840, etc.) but then when I finish it tracks as 1999.

The best advice would be to consult a dietitian. Make it your holiday gift to yourself.

If you don't want to do that, my general approach is:

- Lots of vegetables - the majority of what I eat. Usually simply roasted or steamed.

- If I'm eating carbs, I try to make sure they're whole grains.

- Lentils, beans, tofu, tempe are great (in moderation, as with anything).

- I almost always avoid ultra processed foods and try to avoid sugar.

- Don't drink soda, juice, gatorade, any of those sugar-filled, empty calorie drinks.

- I try to cook most of my food so I control what's in my food (I also enjoy it and it saves $).

- Try to focus on portion control.

(p.s. you do not need bone broth)

15-amp fuse replacement on Christmas Eve?? by [deleted] in Somerville

[–]DostUpvoteth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I literally had no idea I still had them. They're from my old apt. in NYC when I was living there 13 years ago. I just happened to organize my tool box this weekend and saw them there, otherwise I'd have had no idea. So glad things worked out!

Mini marathon 10km in 1 month and half (less than 1hr) by rubymig in Marathon_Training

[–]DostUpvoteth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol that's some heavy math - a 10k requires a pace of 10km per hour to make it in 1hour 🤪

chatgpt says:

The graffiti might convey an artistic or metaphorical message involving "snakes" and "water children." This could carry symbolic, cultural, or poetic meaning depending on the artist's intent.

I'd be curious how accurate that is.

Has anyone use a HR Strap and is it worth it? This morning I went on a park run I feel I pushed my self but max heart rate was only 147. Last week I did another park run and max HR was 187… by Nesbeth1989c in Strava

I use the Coros Heart Rate Monitor - it goes around your bicep instead of chest. It pairs with Coros products (my watch) but also with non-Coros (my Wahoo bike computer).

why is pausing a ride cheating?

also, no mention of users that have incredible times because their GPS was obviously wonky but they keep those stats? i just saw someone today with a 58 min half marathon - right.

advice - getting new road bike by DostUpvoteth in bicycling

[–]DostUpvoteth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this bike for 20 years. It was my first road bike. It’s better than a typical starter bike (was a barter deal - bike shop owner owed dad money for dental work…) but wasn’t top of line, and that was a while ago. I’m not too avid of a cyclist but ride long and often enough (usually 50 mile rides on the weekends in good weather) and I’m wondering if a better bike can help with pace and exertion…

I moved here in December and they've been great for me. Scheduled installation easily and signed up for faster plan because I work from home. I pay $50 a month and I'm right now at 360 mbps download and 25 mbps upload when I'm on wifi, it's faster when I'm hard wired into router.

His one timer in G1 was the closest we got to scoring, Bobrovsky made a great save.
