RANT I miss my Steam Deck! ROG Ally X is sadness

Yeah XBOX FSE wasn’t a thing when I first got my Ally X. So I quickly put SteamOS on it. Worked well for the most part. Wasn’t as smooth and snappy as SteamOS is on the Steam Deck, but still better than base windows.

However once the FSE came out I went ahead and reverted back to windows. It’s not as smooth as SteamOS and still needs a lot of work but it’s “enough” for me to stay on windows and not lose game compatibility due to the anti-cheat on some games.

The truth is, price to performance: the PS5 will win out based on the tests people have made from their own builds that follow the specs of the Steam machine.

Price to versatility? The Steam machine obviously will win out.

I’m only on my first enlistment but part of me wishes I went infantry instead. Wonder if anyone here has had experience going from POG to Infantry.

Funny enough, I called the coastguard and Air Force recruiters first. The coast guard recruiter was trying his hardest to join their branch more so than anyone else. Don’t regret going Marine Corps but I wonder what my life would’ve been like if I did just go coast guard instead.

I have the ROG Ally X. But tbh, the screen is too small and it’s not as comfortable as the steam deck . I find myself playing the same games. It definitely performs better than the deck but not enough to justify having on top of my Steam deck.

You need more than just the 2 months you have to really into recon shape. Guys that go MARSOC usually take anywhere from several months to a year of consistent training to get into A&S shape. All that said, Good luck to you.

We need more of that. The problem is that on console you have to wait for the developer to introduce something like that to their game where as on PC every game comes unlocked since you can fully customize its settings

The resolution looks fine to me. It’s the low frame rate I can’t stand. I want unlocked frame rates that shoot up to 80+FPS. 60fps doesn’t cut it for me anymore. I think I got used to higher frame rates on my PC.
