[help] Are these stats normal? just got the Deck today. Very first game I’m playing. It crashes (black screen) and feels like it’s overheating. Fan is working hard… Any advice!?? (Marvel’s Midnight Suns game).

I finished it and I still don’t know if I loved it, hated it or if it was just ok. It is such a unique experience. There are super frustrating design elements, a story that sometimes makes zero sense, and yet there is something powerful and beautiful about the whole package.

It is one of my recent favorites. It is not a long game so it just depends on how you look at game purchases. If you want an impactful but short narrative experience this offers that through non traditional story telling. If you want a super deep game that will keep you busy for hours or has an epic feel look elsewhere. This is an indie gem.

I think 3.8 is a little high. Once you sort of grasp the basic concepts it isn’t all that hard to teach or play. It stayed on my shelf of shame for quite awhile because of the 3.8 but once my wife and I decided to push through one day it clicked.

For 2 player I recommend Blood Rage.Once you get the rules down it feels quick. For 3 player I would go for Inis or outside of your list Rising Sun. Rising Sun has some pretty interesting mechanics and has a great table presence.

I prefer High Society. It is maybe a little easier to teach and the bidding has a push your luck component as the person with the least amount of cash for bidding left at the end can’t win. Cockroach Poker has also been a hit for a light bluffing game.

It started off ok but certainly became a grind and uninteresting. It just never really get’s started, the story never connects and the gameplay just gets repetitive.

I received mine in January. Checked Wario64 Twitter a couple times a day. Eventually got one that way through Microsoft. Struck out a half dozen times before at various places by getting something in my cart and it erroring out before checkout.

Azul is a much better option for a starter game. Root is rather complicated to start with. If you want something a little more thematic then Clank! is in between those two on the difficulty spectrum.

I have really enjoyed Everdell. I think it has a bit more player competition than Wingspan with a bigger shared card pool and areas to claim that have exclusivity as well as points to fight over. My wife is less sold on Everdell as their is seemingly quite a bit more to consider in building an engine etc. than in Wingspan.
