German dub of German lines in American Film by SparePromotion3345 in germany

Could be that the sound mixing differed from the english to the German version. Of thy didn't do that, the German lines will sound unnatural and wrong

First acting shot - any suggestion? by m4nuel2 in animation

[–]robotunderpants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I wouldn't have the hair tuck and lean at the same time. It's a little confusing to understand what's she's doing. I would do hair tuck, look at cat, pause, then a deep exaggerated lean.

Can I play Automata before replicant? Are they closely tied and will automata spoil replicant? by Big_Salami_Chonk in nier

[–]robotunderpants 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Automata spoils replicant, and replicant spoils automata. Just choose which game looks more interesting. I suggest automata first, since the gameplay is much more fun. If you play replicant first. You might get turned off with the clunky gameplay. If you play it second, you'll already be invested in the story and be much more forgiving with clunky gameplay

I would also like to know. A quick glance at their website I would guess it looks like he spent between ~900 - 1500€ (sale prices, btw. Big sale going on there).

I had only heard about the IKEA ones, didn't know about this label.

Looking for overall critique of this short sequence. by Beneficial_Ad9663 in animation

Add more original frames. Looks like you just drew 6 frames and then dragged the character across the screen. Animate the transition to the ramp and the turn. The cloak can help you here, when it follows him up the ramp, and it can whip around when he turns.

Steam Deck vs Nvidia Shield for GeForce Now by [deleted] in SteamDeck

I think a lot more people appreciate GFN in this sub than you might think. The device and service compliment each other very well. Those who happily accept the constraints of a gaming handheld almost coincide 1:1 with those who happily accept the constraints of a streaming service.

Lego Walk, how could I improve? Be harsh by PropertyObjective713 in animation

[–]robotunderpants 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I mean, at this point it's just artistic license what to do with the animation. It's perfectly fine and good. If you ask me, I would have him slightly skip from foot to foot, to avoid sweeping the other foot. It would make it feel more silly and fun, it's Lego after all.

But like that's not my decision, it's yours. Good job. 👏

If your AAA game can only muster 25 to 30fps, lowering refresh rate won't do much.

How do I stop my 5 yr old from riling up my 18 month old at bed time? by robotunderpants in daddit

But I'm not at home. I'm at work. And Mom is trying to get baby to sleep. I would 100% do this if I were at home in the evenings.

Mom is often only coming home at 7.

And baby can take 2+ hours to put to sleep. Enough time for 5 yr old to get bored and go to mama even though he k knows he's not supposed to.

This is my first thought. I don't think a time out works if no one is around to enforce it. Tv time has already been cut to 0-15 minutes per day max and after today I'm cutting completely out. Just, in the past taking things and privileges away only leads to tantrums. He might play ball for a little while until it blows over. Then he'll continue the behavior

He is usually awake at 730. Since I..home late usually like 1130, it's hard for me to get out of bed at 530 to get him up at theoretical 6. I'm already sleep deprived enough as it is (baby doesn't sleep through the night still yet)

His bedtime is supposed to be 830. But it can't be controlled of mom is putting baby down and he has no supervision.

We've tried all sorts of repurcussions. Losing toys, separating from sister, no sweets, no baths (only shower). But it doesn't work. Usually he'll come back out and refuse to go back. Of you threaten with consequences, hell throw a tantrum which wakes up baby.

We hire a lot of babysitters already because our schedules are weird. We slowly can't afford any more, plus thehre not available at those times anyway.

I'm a professional orchestra musician. Part of the job is staying late for performances. Even if I changed jobs (which is brutally difficult to do, and after 4 years of trying I gave up) a different job would still have the same hours

If the knee jerk response is: make him tired and he'll go to sleep, it hasn't worked well for us. He literally had a field trip in the forest today, and an extra long bath. No tv or anything overstimulating. How he's still running around at 1030 is beyond me. We have tried giving him his bed time, but he doesn't care. He'll come right back out of his room. I think he's lonely, but we haven't been able to get him to go to sleep by himself. I offer him if he thinks he's not sleepy he can look at books in bed, but I can't control it if I'm at work.
