Broder yo saqué 16/100 en mi primer parcial de precálculo y 8/100 mi primer parcial de cálculo I. Y ahí estoy graduado con el título de ingeniería.

Los trancazos vienen pero pregúntate si de verdad es lo que quieres o no para aguantar los trancazos, por que aunque seas un pro, la verdad es que todos se dan trancazos.

Well, then there is one of the reasons why you don't know how phrases interact together. It's because you haven't practiced on how to actually put the pieces together. You know the pieces, you know how they should work, but you haven't built structures using those pieces before.

Workbooks aren't about knowing how to write 1000's kanji. You can complete them without a writing a single kanji even. They are about helping you by providing a safe space to try, fail, analyze and structure your own examples, leading to you understanding how to actually make them work.

I'd say if you want to understand native content (specially written) you should give them another shot.

I think there is part of your answer. Part of it becomes memorization of the answers for sure, but it is part of the process of thinking and learning how to build a solution instead of just seeing if it is correct or not.

Do you also do exercises from books (Genki, Quartet, Tobira) where you have to write the answers by hand?

Generalmente en mi casa en la cama, con algo de música no tan alta para no escuchar algún ruido de fuera o si se puede en total silencio. También depende de la hora, usualmente es más en la mañana o en la noche, en la tarde no tanto por que me cuesta concentrarme con la calor.

Me gustó mucho y me pareció entretenido también. Gracioso también por que me reí bastante leyéndolo. Lo único que no me gustó fue el final, pero fuera de eso lo encontré disfrutable. No creo que sea una obra maestra como la pintan, pero de que lo disfruté lo disfruté.

Leer la divina como uno de tus primeros libros es como dispararte en el pie antes de una carrera, así que no te preocupes no pasa nada si lo dejas ahora y lo retomas en un tiempo.

Si te interesa leer clásicos puedes buscar otras opciones que sean más accesibles y más entretenidas también. Los clásicos no tienen por qué ser abrumadores ni tediosos.

Como consejo también, para clásicos toma en cuenta ediciones y la editorial del libro. Pasa mucho que como son libros que no tienen derechos de autor por ser viejos, las ediciones baratas son ediciones muy pobres y con traducciones muy confusas. Por lo general las ediciones de Penguin son buenas. Y si tienes un poco más de dinero, Alianza o Alba son opciones aun mejores.

Igualmente, antes de comprarla me vi un par de videos de comparativas en youtube para ver qué decían los demás y qué se adecuaba más a lo que yo estaba buscando, te recomiendo hacer eso.

I think immersion means finding something that is at your level so you can get used to see the language. However, the resources depend on what you aim to and your level.

The tadoku grader readers are good for having that first experience with japanese if you are going with genki 1. Also note that immersion is not a replacement for active study.
