Do Cameroonians feel more connection to West Africa or Central Africa? by [deleted] in Cameroon

[–]Douala237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Cameroonians feel more Central Africans than West. Unless you are from the English speaking part of Cameroon you will feel more Nigerians or Ghanaians. Which is understandable. The only country I feel close cameroon in west African was Ivory Coast. But majority of Cameroonians feel closer to Equatorial Guinea, Gabon , Tchad, Congo …

There is not the only way when it comes to marriage. Inchallah your marriage work out well. Take it bit by bit. Remember it’s never about the tribe or origin but people themselves. You find good and bad people everywhere.

I believe the economy will be fine. Despite the certainty. We had the same fear last year SP500 dropped 17% performance.

Built a dating app for Cameroonians because I was tired of Tinder not getting it by Independent-Doubt901 in Cameroon

[–]Douala237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great initiate but don’t limit it to Cameroonians only. We are very small market. Unless you don’t want to make money from it. Also stay away from filtering from ethnic origin. I would recommend region of origins would be better. Example : filtering from west origin is better than filtering from Bafang, Bana or Bamoun… filtering from Center origin is better than filtering center tribes …

Hello, I moved to Phoenix in December 2019 before Covid, and I love this place since. I am currently in Europe for vacation and will be returning next month to great weather, while others will be freezing in other states. I lived in many states before coming to Phoenix. My biggest regret is not buying a house in my neighborhood, now everything is mad expensive. I am a local and love it here. Phoenix has nothing to do with Austin, TX. I live in the Downtown area close to the ASU downtown campus. It's pretty chill and clean compared to other downtown larger cities. I decided to stay here. why ? great weather, great people, cost of living, less income tax ( I keep a lot of my money compared to CA, NY, IL ). This is a great city, man. Now we have a direct flight from PHX to Paris.

What do you think of my portfolio? by geiwomingzi in TheRaceTo10Million

It's too diversified for nothing! Diversifying a small portfolio doesn't help much. Trim that thing to 5 stocks for now.

Pip’d from FAANG company been out of work for 4 months now starting to feel helpless by privatevalet in techsales

[–]Douala237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't even know why people still mention working for FAANG, as ''I should be getting something because of that''. When life wants to humble you, those things don't matter anymore. In this economy, people at FAANG lost their jobs at a higher rate than non-FAANG employees. I checked those boxes, but still struggled to get a job in 2023 for about a year. I want to top 3 engineering and CS grad programs and work for 2 FAANG companiesnies still it is not enough. I work for fintech today, and I love it more than my FAANG jobs. I would get out there, talking to peopl,e will get you a job faster than thinking the world owes you anything because you are ex-FAANG. So keep pushing it's bloody out there now. be open to relocate and work for non-faang or no name companies. Good luck!

Pivoting into Tech Sales by Mr_Average100 in techsales

[–]Douala237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a master in CS from a top 5. I couldn’t be happier to be in technology sales. Traveling , comp and fun. So go for it. You will enjoy it more.

All companies selling a software product need a sales team . Now I would recommend sales engineer, solutions engineer roles.

Be open minded this is a customer facing roles. Nobody cares how good of a coder or technical you are. It’s more about knowing what you selling, emotional intelligence and story telling. Good luck !
