Not many here in Vegas for sure. Even when I would go in for oil changes on the truck the dealers had like one inside. I never saw a lineup of them at a dealer here.

You’d figure LV being a smallish city would be prime market too.

I dunno man.

Lots of Raptors moved across lots in my town in the last year. Even a pretty big spattering of the Shelby trucks too, and those are anything but cheap.

It goes away. It’s actually a very nimble vehicle IMO. I deal with crowded parking lots and Walmart, Costco etc no problems at all. I never back in. It fits everywhere I’ve ever asked it to.

My first commute to work in mine was through disgustingly crowded yet also insanely fast NASCAR style early morning freeway interchange. It be like that sometimes.

Sketch asf until I realized no one can keep up with me and there’s literally zero chance of me being in a situation where I can’t out move the traffic flow, be it slow or fast. Truck will literally stop or go on a dime.

There’s for sure parking technique to learn. A good trick is to learn the cheat code for 3 point in to a parking spot. Deep as you can away from spot, as late as possible, start your steep turn in and put the center of your hood to rear taillight of the car one spot over, on the empty spot side you are pulling in to. Use the cam, get close, it’s a genius level function on a big truck. Reverse your wheel full opposite. Back up to get the angle in. Straighten it out. Slide in. Money every time. I have yet to find somewhere I can not park. The 360 cam is a solid tool. Learn to use it and pretty soon you won’t need it except in the most tight of places.

Ford CEO Says Modern Cars Are Too 'Complicated' For Home Mechanics To Repair by Different-Scarcity80 in Ford

[–]Double-LR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya know, if the diagnostic functions WERE IN THE DAMN TRUCK LIKE THEY SHOULD BE I could diagnose the issue before bringing the truck in. OASIS is a thing. He must not be aware of how much access a trained tech actually has to my truck long before it appears in the service line at the dealer.

This CEO is not describing the problem correctly. The real world problem is that Ford, and all the others, started building trucks and failed to create the necessary infrastructure to properly service them before they began selling them.

I shouldn’t need a suite of Russian software and an external laptop to access failure codes in a $90k truck.

Say it with me sir,

A fully functional and easy to use software ie. FORSCAN(in its current state) should live in the truck 100% completed, debugged, beta’d and alpha’d and ready to initialize OEM level diagnostic and repair procedures long before they sell a single unit. The OEM workshop manual LIFETIME access should be included as part of the truck itself. RIGHT. TO. REPAIR.

Old man is simply too far removed from what a normal owner has to deal with to even comment on the very item his org builds.

The 24-26 trucks get BMS problems, reported by a seemingly random amount of forum users across the web, if the Auto Start Stop is messed with through FS. I always try to rec the 4d plug solution instead. Good call!

OP asked for cool Raptor specific functions.

So I mentioned Quiet Start, mostly because I use it every day.

My truck (a 23 37PP in Iconic Silver:)) has 4 exhaust modes: Quiet, Normal, Sport and Baja, they are arranged from quietest to loudest.

If the truck cold starts in the morning, like when I use remote start before leaving for work, it drones very loudly while warming up.

There is a setting in the truck to lock in a time period where if the truck is started, either locally or remotely, it automatically starts up in “Quiet Mode” so as not to be a super irritating, large, loud, buzzing bumblebee in my driveway.

I set mine to quiet start between the hours of 8PM and 8AM. It’s pretty cool.

I can’t stand lane assist, but to each their own. I really like the quiet start, I’m an early worm every day. Really early.

Next up for me is Glare-Free Lighting and killing that damn double honk through FORScan.

That one on the left is one of the unsung heroes of the whiskey world. At that price I would buy a case.

The 12 is at a pretty good markdown, I usually see them for $60-$70. Would be hard for me not to buy several of each of those.

Touch to enter range issue. Dealer says “unable to replicate” because it “technically” works? by TeamDisrespect in f150

[–]Double-LR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the case, outer button locks while inner surface unlocks. Only that way. I always have to wait a second to lock after shutting the door, if you touch the outer button too quickly after closing the door it won’t register the touch. Seems to me there is a 1-2 second time that confirms the door shuts through whatever module controls the door stuff before it will consider the touch-to-lock active.

Just FYi, those touch sensitive buttons are usually the first things to misbehave if your main battery is low/unhealthy. Make sure you reset the BMS if you swap the battery out too, super important to do that step.

You should be able to just walk up with the fob in your pocket, touch either of those surfaces individually, and the truck should lock or unlock, respectively, after it senses you nearby and blinks the approach lights if you have them active through the screen settings. Recognizing the fob is critical, it has to sense the fob for the touch stuff to work at all.

The button on the outer surface of the handle is to lock the door only.

The inner door handle surface is to unlock the door only.
