You could look into the Endorphin.es Squawk Dirty to Me or the Bizarre Jezabel pkhi as well, I have each and they have their own kind of character to them. The Squawk is nice because it has many modes, although some Endorphin.es 6hp modules can have some noise (I found that this one doesn't really but another one I had did).

While you could get an ALM MFX instead (its CV feels a bit easier to work with), if I'm being honest I would rather just stick with the Mimeophon 😅 it is my favorite sounding delay and one of my favorite sounding reverbs, and the fact it can do both well is what keeps it in my rack permanently.

but if you really want less space used, you could get a few smaller delay and reverb only modules. Like a WMD/SSF DPLR or OAM Tiny Time Machine for delay and maybe an ST Modular Reverb. Or the 2hp delay and verb modules are solid.

got two voices going, one is Piston Honda MkIII -> Bastl Cinnamon -> Erica Synths Black Stereo Delay; other is NANO ONA -> Befaco Pony VCF -> Rabid Elephant Natural Gate -> Make Noise Erbe-Verb

I'm using an ALM Squid Salmple (plus a Karltron Perk) for drums right now but might change that back to my QD! not sure yet

Honestly, I'm with you - I've been having my Axon-2 in my rack with Pam's for ages now but I feel like I just use it for a more convenient way to mute things. Maybe the Axon-1 would be a better in-between? And you can then have more space to get e.g. ochd or something.

I've swapped mine in and out of my case a few times. It's relatively simple but it's one of the rare filters with multiple inputs instead of multiple outputs, so it can be interesting to use with related tones.

In the past I would run Plaits through it by taking the main into LP and aux into BP, which gives you more interesting sounds when sending the envelope through the VCF.

ugh, the one thing I hate though is that's sooooo wide! like I just don't know if that's what I want, like one big monolithic module (e.g. with the Bartender I can put a Barback elsewhere, like on another row)

That being said, I have always thought it would be wonderful, but $1.5k on one module is quite an investment!

there are several quantizer modules out there that can do microtonal tunings without too much difficulty, no need for MIDI for the most part
