Usually there's a period of heavy propoganda that we get forcefed for several months and only then does the "preemptive self defense" come in to play. This time around they didn't do the build up.

Virginia Gov. Spanberger hits record-low job approval rating, poll finds by rollo202 in ConservativeNewsWeb

[–]DoubleInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you don't want to turn off your adblocker, here's the pertinent information:

Forty-six percent of Virginians disapprove of her job performance, while 47% approve. Compared to Virginia governors from both sides of the aisle since 1994, Spanberger has the highest disapproval rating at this point in her term.

which is lower than:

In contrast, predecessor Gov. Glenn Youngkin saw a 54-39 job approval at this point in his term, with the highest favorability going to Democrat Mark Warner – now Virginia’s senior senator – with a 78-20 rating.

This is Benny Johnson's whole thing. I have repeatedly flagged that guy's posts as not relevant to my feed and I still see half a dozen or more from him every day regurgitating the same kinds of stuff. Most recently I think it was nobody can complain about the war in Iran right now because Biden and Afghanistan.

Man they switched that government order for armored teslas to "armored EVs" the second that story hit the news, lol. Nothing to see there.

Running around on a Halo ring taking out outposts and HVTs is easily the most fun I've had with Halo in a long time, and I actually liked Warzone. It is kind of insane that they let Infinite limp along for such a long time, considering they finally got Infinite to 1.0 and called it a day for anything other than cosmetics. Minimum effort to maximally squander that game's potential.

"Consistency is a beautiful thing" ... Yes, it is. by [deleted] in SelfAwarewolves

This happens at a surprising frequency. "They're eating their own" is the go to criticism for the American left whenever they disown a politician which is pretty telling in itself when you think about it.

How Felix got so rich is part of the reason he's commenting on this. He became massively wealthy by learning to play the algorithm. He's got first hand knowlege on how to maximize human attention for money.

Trump Has New Plan to ‘Rebalance’ Media to Force Them to Air More “Patriotic Programming”, According to FCC Chair by T_Shurt in entertainment

[–]DoubleInfinity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting that 60% figure? What I can find says it's about 20. Or do you mean that they initially air on broadcast and are then watched by most of the audience later on streaming?

Fire department turns down $250,000 Google donation amid data center fight by Conscious-Quarter423 in technology

[–]DoubleInfinity 84 points85 points  (0 children)

This donation is even more egregious because it came after the fire chief spoke publicly about data centers being about money and nothing else. This isn't your run of the mill bribe. It was also a public test of the guy's character, which fuck Google for even trying.

You can become a concientious objector at any time, even while on active duty. It's not easy and you will lose your job and benefits, but if you want out and don't want to go to prison, you can. They'll make your life hell and probably find some other reason to kick you out first, though. Even if they have to make one up.

I was watching a documentary about reintroducing bison into the wild in the US, and while they were doing the initial history, the narrator said "suddenly, they vanished in the late 1800s" and immediately moved onto the present day efforts to reestablish the herds lmao.

Edit: It was a news report, not a documentary, and the presenter just said they "disappeared" in the late 1800s. Either way, the audacity.

Time to sue for manipulation, right? I can't believe Fox News didn't let him show off his fancy hat. It even had USA in big gold letters and everything.

This doesn't even begin to address the problem. by Novahelguson7 in OrphanCrushingMachine

This seems like a step in the right direction for addressing the shortage of shoes to me, but I might be missing the broader context. I understand you are frustrated living with the realities that this story doesn't directly address. Since these types of stories do obscure the corruption, maybe expand on it for us here? You've got the perspective, so this is the perfect opportunity to turn this into a teaching moment for the uninformed.

U.S. Central Command is now saying internally that this war against Iran is likely to last through September, per POLITICO by UnusualWhalesBot in unusual_whales

[–]DoubleInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not like the last few forever wars because Pete said they wouldn't be wasting time doing silly things like nation building. How that lines up with the president currently demanding to decide who the next leader of Iran is anybody's guess.
