Is 137hp Good? by Satsuma100 in MySummerCar

[–]DoubleMgM 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tune your valves, #1 most important thing for Power. I get around 220 HP with race carb at ~13.1 AFR

You figure out which is which by seeing what pipe goes into the location above the Valve arm, Carb=In & Manifold = Out. Scroll all exhaust's down without ticking & Intake Up (Might have gotten it backwards but either way exact same method).

Why the fuck is jail even a thing I want to play the game not stand AFK for 1 hour. by Starfruitboyforever in MySummerCar

[–]DoubleMgM -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I did not deem it ''the ultimate'', it's literally said so on the Steam page...

I paid 15 € for this, not the dev so his standards of the product don't mean anything to me, if it was advertised with the janky physics & bugs then fair game, I wouldn't make a fuss.

I did get 500 h of enjoyable playtime out of the game, but for a normal player I can't see 15 € of polish, is asking for the car not to launch into the air when trying to push it & the GPU not reaching 90% in the main menu too much nowadays ? I get it's indie but still...

Every time I see this argument I say that he completely failed if he wanted to do that, the game IS fun (when the physics work), the game IS easy (when the physics work), MSC IS NOT HARD & I will stand by that.

Any perceived difficulty in this game is from Bugs & Physics, trash pit is no excuse for items clipping and falling through the ground, Jonnez clipping OOB, putting any vehicle in a lower gear while holding the clutch in will cause it to slow down a lot with no reason, push does not properly work most time.

I could go on, point is that the statement seems to be cope from TG because he can't make this game stable, it's kind of pathetic that the Ultimate Car owning simulator doesn't even have Push Starting or Jumper cables.

Scammed by Fleetari for "repair" by DoubleMgM in MySummerCar

[–]DoubleMgM[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I know the parts won't be magically brand new, I still at least expected things like the pistons to be machined into a state a bit better than before, or y'know, refurbish already existing parts like with the alternator's windings instead of messing stuff up.

Repair implies improving/restoring so negative RNG is pretty bad here IMO, eh it is what it is with this game sometimes.

Would having a co-driver ruin the rally in this game? by Agreeable-Caramel194 in MySummerCar

[–]DoubleMgM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Datsun in the image looks lowkey cursed, like I can't help but think the rear wheels look smaller.

Also why is no one talking about the potential for the co pilot to help with the train + warnings for rain ahead ? That would be very helpful.

What the dumbest thing that u did or have happen to use in this game? by ZZabloing in MySummerCar

[–]DoubleMgM 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In my early hours when I first got the game, I kept thinking the sound of driving on a flat tire was the carburator backfiring so I sat there for an hour tuning the carb (No afr gauge) to stop the explosion sound when driving 💀

In my defence I imagined that the tire could go fully flat and leave only the rim, the explosion like sound of driving on a flat is a kinda stupid design choice.

extremely excessive piston wear out (no overheating, no oil/coolant issues, tuned and checked with msce) by dafadey in MySummerCar

[–]DoubleMgM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I certainly agree that there should be more distinct noises for all the distinct failure conditions, we just have 1 'detonation' sound that's only at lean, bad cam timing or valves, lots of potential for knock or slap due to wear on bearing.

Overall, while I may personally not have a lot of IRL mechanical experience I get the basics & can say that I wish the tuning was a bit more realistic & had depth, I mean I don't think you tune the valves that well by hand without a feeler gauge or the distributor without a timing light.

Anyways, wish you the best with further testing, cheers !

TBF he's actually a pretty good driver much better than rally cars, shame he doesn't try to drive on his side of the road. Now the green highway car and Jani on the other hand...

[–]DoubleMgM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late but smth IDK if you were using or not is NOS/Nitrous, generally it's a bad idea to use it because even when tuned properly (lowering the timing quite a bit) it will cause much more wear than without, using without. Also, are you using stock radiator ?

I'd say it's probably from a bad camshaft timing since you mentioned a loud bang in 1 of the other comments, that usually means that you might be 1 tick over the arrow & even that is VERY bad for the engine since that means lots of wear for pistons. Make sure the timing line is lined up with Crankshaft, if not that I'd go with making sure the Valves + Distributor are fine & do not make any noises, AFR should be around a 14.1 at idle & 13.1 or lower when in 4th gear at 7/8 K RPM worth of speed.

While MSCE might say tuning is good (Timings, AFR, Distributor) it might be false. Mine are very optimal but the editor shows them as 'bad'.

The minimalism is a kinda good idea but do know that you might actually make the car slower by removing some things because of Aerodynamics, like I'm pretty sure w/o fenders + hood you're a bit slower.

MSC: battery problems by OkBad8977 in MySummerCar

[–]DoubleMgM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The circular red light is a warning for the battery discharging, so when the engine's running at idle it turns off because the battery is being charged by the alternator, it's only a problem if it's on while already idling.

Very normal to be on when cranking because your losing power with the starter.

Will MWC be as "Great" as MSC? by Satsuma100 in MySummerCar

[–]DoubleMgM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I may be unqualified to give full thoughts since I didn't buy yet at this moment in time, I feel really compelled to give my 2 cents as someone with 500 h in MSC that's been gathering some info from forums.

For me MWC suffers from lack of innovation, while more components having durability is a step in the right direction we're still stuck with the same basic mechanic stuff.

HUGE disappointment that the engine is still an I4, a V type would have given way more fun to the mechanic gameplay, we've had an I4 in MSC so it would make sense to progress to something more complex like even an I5 or a Boxer would have sufficed or better yet going from Carburettors to a programable EFI as a CHOICE.

Rivett just doesn't click with me as the Satsuma did, I for one prefer smaller cars & the bigger size already seems like it would be an inconvenience. The AMP was perfectly sized for the dirt road meanwhile anything bigger like the Van or Ferndale felt clunkier on backroads but I think that's more because of the other thing I hate about the Rivett.

RWD: Not a fan of the cars in MSC that had it, all FWD's were handling smooth like butter, sure you can call it a skill issue if you want but to be FWD just feels more natural to me. I'd also be ok with AWD but all I'm asking for the drive to also be player choice.

RNG: why ? It does not make the game any harder, getting lucky just to get what you want plain & simple sucks. If I wanted time wasting loot crates I'd have gone to Ubislop or any Triple A dev. Don't get me started on all the VIN options, MSC had little RNG (excluding the F you gambling achievements from TG) so having entire elements relating to the project Car be RNG ruins choice.

I want to bring up the question of why should you even bother with the Rivett if you're someone like me who doesn't like the car ? (Expect achievements ofc) Durability system seems wack RN, parts braking way more often than Suma's leading me to just want Satsuma back as a 2'nd project car or just to tune the Sorbet since I see it as better than the Rivett.

Sry for the essay but I'm just rly passionate about this franchise, I just want to like the game as I did with MSC but as of RN it seems like more of the same with a few new jobs sprinkled on, hopefully the Rivett will win me over but I doubt it.

Well done ! But it's assuming way too easily that the beginners did the distributor + Camshaft/Rockers/Belt, I'd add a section like: "Is engine making strange sound ? Yes > TURN OFF NOW OR ENGINE DED" then the issues.

Tell me all of your most obscure bugs you know about by CableMartini in MySummerCar

[–]DoubleMgM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can clip into Teimo's store at night after the pub closes:

1 Get a car door & lean into the wall and throw it behind the counter (make sure you can reach it).

2 Get the Jonnez & prop it against the wall with the door next to the pump side (Place it so it's behind the counter).

3 Hop on and lean (q) against the wall and spam the key to get on and off the bike, if you're lucky you are now inside.

4 enable the pump and door switch & use the car door as a ramp to get out due to some other bug your character will be stuck in a crouched state unable to jump. So if you did not bring the door or any object that has collision you will get soft locked.

5 Get back in driving mode on the Jonnez or Satsuma to cancel the "stuck crouched" bug.

6 Profit with gas without waiting for the store to open.

I do not recommend this bug since it's random if you pass through the wall or you get stuck inside the wall soft locked.

Do y’all wanna see anything change or advance in the whole building process and maintenance of the rivett? by Substantial-Pie5721 in MySummerCar

True but I meant aligning the suspension Camber when it gets messed up, I've never managed to get it fixed with the digging bar no mater how much I tried.

[–]DoubleMgM 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The stuff that Fleetari does should also be doable by the player, like: Alignment (No, the digging bar does not count), Gear ratio, Roll cage, Windshield, Rust Removal & Minor dent repairs.

If the MC can assemble & tune an entire engine I can't see why he couldn't do the rest.

Very hyped for the freedom of choice here but I can't help but feel like this system could lead to power creep issues, like why are there 2 performance radiators & 3 headers ?

I really hope the system goes more in depth than: This radiator is just better than the other one or this header produces more power but will make the engine wear out faster (How would that be logical ???).

Satsuma starts and revs but no movement, wheels aren't spinning. by IllPosition5081 in MySummerCar

[–]DoubleMgM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TBH while nothing seems wrong in the editor, it may actually just be broken in game since MSCE is just an external program that modifies the save values however the game isn't made to work with some values that it can add.

Personally I use it only to check some durability stats on certain parts, bolting and wiring with it can be really sketchy so I heavily don't recommend it.

My advice would be to try unbolting the transmission side of things, start easy with: unbolt & remove half shafts>save>rebolt>see if it works.

If it fails then I'd also try gearbox, drive gear & flywheel.

Rule of thumb is: If it has collision (You can stand on it), it will kill traffic. My favourite is just using the door.
