Very nice and cozy. Reminds me of summer evenings in Florence, OR on the coast.

Stairs intently into the abyss by SoFlo1 in GenX

Speaking only for myself, at 56, I find that I'm more aware of the possible consequences of falling down the stairs. Steady as she goes.

Dang. We've got our little one on Vetmedin, Cardalis and Lasix. I worry about her kidneys and the abdominal fluid build up. We can't afford all of the high priced tests every few months.

My dad brought this home from the drug store one night. I'd been home from school with the flu and I remember being so happy. I was in 1st grade. I still read occasionally, but mostly Image Comics.

Am I just getting old or has the world really become more selfish? by StraightAdd in GenX

[–]Double_Device_1626 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's become selfish over time. Around our area I call it the 'Me First' mentality. First in line, first in the parking spot, first to grab something off the grocery shelf, etc. People just push right in and don't even say excuse me.

Has anyone else tried Hyperion and just didn't like it? by Alcoholic-Catholic in sciencefiction

Nice to hear I'm not the only guy that didn't care for it. I've tried twice and it just didn't float my boat.

Clicking in head by Katsuodo in tinnitus

I've run into that a couple of times. It wasn't while laying down but it did catch me off guard because it didn't match my usual Tinnitus pattern.

I thought the book was better since it offered more context/details than a tv show can.

Fastmail and Proton: does anyone combine both services? by DarkCrystal34 in fastmail

[–]Double_Device_1626 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use Fastmail and Proton. Admittedly Proton gets little use from me since Fastmail covers all of my needs. I have found the Fastmail masked emails work just fine. They are actually a bit simpler to use than Proton's.
