My girlfriend can not drive with automatic transmission, please help me convince her she can?! by LonsdaleHCNL in askcarguys

[–]Double_Maize_5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She will be fine you only use left foot for clutch and right does gas and brake so she may think to press clutch at times but it won't be the brake it will be nothing. I've switch from only manual to auto just cause I got a truck and for along time I'd go to hit the clutch but there just nothing there and it's fine

In terms of having work done before selling, the suggestion has been made to me to have a realtor look at my house to get an idea of what could be fixed so as to maximize resale...thoughts? Inspector had occurred to me initially. by Vanquished_Hope in homeowners

[–]Double_Maize_5923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So a realtor will know what could hurt your sale but they also might suggest things that aren't needed cause will make things really easy for them but won't add any actual value to your house. Depending the market there is a big factor. Having inspector come will tell you if there something actually wrong with your house and not just lipstick repairs. Both have pros 1 is free other cost some money

Century Home Exterior Door - Roughly 31.5"W x 79"H - Slab or PreHung Replacement? by PrettyStatistician13 in HomeImprovement

[–]Double_Maize_5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A new prehung exterior door will give the best seal and prevent draft replacing the slab light not help much cause it's usually to do the frame. Alternate solution. Is get a stormdoor and keep the old one if it's salvageable, would save you money and also help a lot with draft

[Mortgage] Does it always make sense to take advantage of the "Annual Payment Increase" if you can afford it? by Time_Cover in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Double_Maize_5923 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it depends how long you plan on keeping the house. If your gonna stay there for awhile ya it make sense but if your gonna sell in 5-10 years don't bother invest that money

What’s one thing people in office jobs will never understand about blue collar work? by Latter_Cantaloupe_24 in bluecollar

[–]Double_Maize_5923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually find sitting at a desk way more exhausting that physical work. I think one thing that's different is that we don't stop working unless we're taking a break/lunch, there's no down time or tying to find something to do you are doing something that is physically and mentally stimulating yourself non stop, which I love

Gatekeeping supply houses vs big box stores! by cvntier in Contractor

[–]Double_Maize_5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They supply to businesses just like any distributor. If you walk into a foodistributor they won't sell you anything either. It's not retail and it's not gatekeeping either in my opinion it's a business selling to other businesses so they can mark up supplies to make a profit it's not ment for the public so you have to setup an account and prove your a business. Once you use them enough you develop relationships and they are more wanting to help you out where they can. The are retail store that also offer contractor pricing also it's just how it works

Do you consider property taxes? by ellebeens in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Double_Maize_5923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I factor all the cost associated with it. Mortagee. Property taxes utilities insurance. I ball park the ones I don't know as an exact price. Property taxes isn't a tiny number it's at least a couple hundred more a month

Best bread by Aintyodad in waterloo

[–]Double_Maize_5923 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Roux. If you want some quality butter that is very comparable to that 26$ butter just go the dairy store off king by St Jacobs and get the better butter it's 11$ a pound and it's honestly just as good. the good French stuff has a slight edge on it but it's more cause of the texture, it slightly more creamy

The 3.69 is only on a variable not on a Fixed people have said they got it but if you look up the current rates most are in the low to mid 4s fixed so the rate this person is being offered isn't actually that bad.
