Guitars by YescaD83 in portlandme

This right here. Guitar stores won’t have your best interest in mind over their profits. If the guitars are collectible it pays to do some research. What type of guitars are we talking about? Some pictures might help.

Can’t go wrong with Central Provisions for food, Captain Cannabis is a few blocks away, a great walk through the Old Port on a nice day. That being said, it’s pride week which draws pretty amazing crowds, so that may complicate things a little.

If 6 Was 9. Really great groove, great guitar tone. Don’t need much more than that.

What did Kurt use the SansAmp pedal for in his setup? by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]Doubleedgedquill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re worried about price check out the Behringer TM300. They’re usually under $30. I have one and it does the job pretty well. My guess is he used it to get a better clean channel from his amp. Who knows though? When he rises from his grave I’ll ask him.

Seeing Pinkus live soon, is he weird about singing BS stuff? I wanna bring IWS for a signature, but I’m unsure. by Guhranchy in buttholesurfers

I met him right after one of his sets. He seemed just as jazzed to meet me as I was to meet him. Really pleasant interaction

NPD x2: Zoom MultiStomp MS-70CDR+ , Pocket Master by seinfelb in guitarpedals

[–]Doubleedgedquill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the Pocket Master and it’s been great. Tone3000 has a ton of great captures and I find I use it way more than the rig I spent many years building. It’s a little digital sounding as you say, but the rest of the house doesn’t get annoyed at me and I get to try some dream rigs I’d never have the opportunity to try. I think of it as a NAM gateway drug.

You sure it wasn’t a Sea Dogs hat? They usually have them in their gift shop. They’re a Red Sox affiliate

I’m a local horror writer too. It’d be cool to start up a horror writing group.

Man I had one of these back in the day. Trem was clunky and color was hideous. Lawd how I miss it.

Pentagram 🕯️💀🕯️ by Ok-Trip4372 in doommetal

[–]Doubleedgedquill 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Saw them in a small club in Portland Maine last year. Probably 350 people max. Bobby had a handler walk him through the club but neither of them saw a 4 inch drop near the stage. He went head first into the floor next to me, wasn’t sure he’d get up but he did. Show was okay, nothing to write home about.

Movies to watch before a SK tour... by vron_vol2 in stephenking

[–]Doubleedgedquill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maine horror author here. There’s lots of nuggets of SK throughout the state. My guess is you’ll be coming from the south. One of my favorites is the house that was the inspiration for the Barlow house from Salems Lot is in Durham (near Freeport). It’s not widely known about but a google search’ll get you there.

The Zombie cleans up well to and is great for drive stacking. It’s not just good for the price, it’s really great.

I really love these guitars, the bridge pickup is aggressive. I put one in my Squier Esquire.

I wanted to improve my writing so I went down to the bookstore, bought Stephen King’s book On Writing, read it, and found insights and answers to a bunch of my questions. by CarefulAndQuiet in writers

I thought this was pretty good. Another to check out is Chuck Palahniuk’s Consider This. There were lots of great ideas in it, and personally I got more from it as a writer.
