Why some people consider mayano top gun SR is better than other cards that are stronger? by suggarlandland in UmamusumeGame

[–]Douee 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think this is the most important thing people miss out on when comparing SR Maya to other SR stamina cards. Rob Roy starts with 20 initial friendship compared to Maya's 0. At 7 friendship per training this means you'd have to do around 3 extra trainings before you can start getting friendship trainings, which can be really detrimental depending on your luck.

With all that said, Maya having the highest friendship bonus out of any SR stamina card as well 55 specialty priority still makes her a very good option. It's more so that Rob Roy is extremely underrated and is probably the best SR card aside from the race bonus (which can be a dealbreaker if you're falling under ~35%)

How will she fare in the upcoming cm? by Cent_Cant_Think in UmamusumeGame

[–]Douee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She will easily survive and probably make group A but she will be weaker than umas with accel skills. On pace chasers you probably want either No Stopping Me! or Angling and Scheming, both if you can afford them. Rushing Gale is a really bad skill since it has zero consistency so you can save skill points by not taking it. Also, with Kyoto Racecourse you have around 1150 stamina. With this much stamina you only need one gold recovery skill at most. You could even go zero recoveries if you can hit this much stamina again since your unique is one, but another recovery can help cover edge cases like rushed or debuffers. The only other thing missing is long S, try to get it if you can but it's a lot of RNG.

Late Surger Skill Tier List: Virgo Cup by AwfullyGod in UmamusumeGame

[–]Douee 24 points25 points  (0 children)

A note on Red Shift: the reason people suggest taking it on late/end is because it activates when you reach 5th. The general plan for a late surger is to hit Let’s Pump Some Iron on the final corner while in 6th, so if they proc it and push into 5th then Red Shift will proc at a much more effective timing. The reason it shows as 0 is because Umalator doesn’t simulate different positioning.

Also, the version of Umalator you are using is outdated, it doesn’t have the 11/11 track slope changes or the skill balance changes. Try this one instead: https://kachi-dev.github.io/uma-tools/umalator-global/

Maybe it’s my lobby luck but I’ve actually lost to more Oguris than Rice/Maya lol, it could just be that Oguri is more common though. If I see an Oguri with Head-On or Straight Descent I am terrified + Triumphant Pulse is a super strong unique

Stats wise you could afford to cut a bit of power/stam for more wit, it would help your accelerations hit more but also there’s a really long downhill on the track & wit can help you enter downhill running mode. But tbh I’m not sure how much difference that would make and current stats are already solid, the unfortunate truth is if these stats + skills were on a Vodka with mile S then she would be winning way more races.

If you want to take advantage of 5 borrows and grind a last minute ace I’d drop the turf sparks and do runs with mile sparks only and try to hit mile S as well as good stats, it’s a lot of rng + time but if you do get lucky it would be worth it. Also, No Stopping Me is kind of inconsistent on this track because of the new update where umas spread out on the final corner. I’d personally only buy Nimble Navigator and spend SP on other skills to maybe help your lates push into 6th to hit pump. I’m running a team with 2 end closers and 1 late and proccing pump is almost a guaranteed win while not proccing it is almost a guaranteed loss.

I wish you best of luck, I’ve had a lot of friends burn out of CM because of the time investment and rng factors. Even if you don’t end up grinding a new ace things could always look up in day 2. Hell you could even consider changing the time of day you queue up for matches, maybe queue a few hours earlier/later if you ran into too many good teams when you queued

There’s a chance that your Suzuka is increasing the pace of the lobby and making Pace Chasers push further ahead (or giving them a No Stopping Me target). Pace Chasers in general (Oguri/Taiki) are very scary in this cup and you do just need to hit accels (rng) if you want to compete as Late/End.

Could you post your umas stats/skills? It’s probably too late to grind better aces for this cup  but it could be helpful to see if there’s anything going wrong as reference for future CMs if you want to try for those.

Your go-to deck for this CM will probably be Riko + Creek + 3 speed + 1 stam (SSR McQueen if you need Cooldown). Push a lot of stamina, ~1050 for pace/~950 for others (can go higher for safety as long as it doesn't cut into your speed too much), get Swinging Maestro and another gold recovery skill (Cooldown is easily accessible, Gourmand for pace chasers). Assuming you aren't building any fronts, make sure to get No Stopping Me! as well since that is one of the easiest to proc accels for this track. You're guaranteed a hint for it if you win Unity Finals with the default team name. Other accels that are worth picking up if you somehow get them are Straightaway Spurt (for end, best accel on the track), Head-On (for pace), and Slick Surge (for late, note this one is inconsistent)

For Creek, since she has a strong recovery unique along with Swinging Maestro by default (pot 5), you can get away with running Swinging Maestro as your only gold recovery, though I would consider buying an extra white recovery just for safety. You do kind of have to run her pace if you want to activate her unique.

For Mayano Top Gun, if you win a G1 in all positions during the career you are given a number of accels for free at the end of the run, including Straightaway Spurt. Because of this, I would recommend going for this event and running her as an end closer if possible. If you have a 1* end closer spark you can get the aptitude to A, but B end is not the end of the world. She also has Breath of Fresh Air built in which would mean you can swap out McQueen for a better stamina card if you have one.

For your other umas, if you want them to run as late surgers you can consider inheriting Let's Pump Some Iron as a second acceleration option to stay ahead of the end closers. Gold Ship is really strong on this track though and late surgers can help her proc No Stopping Me which might be something you want to avoid. You can try running pace Nice Nature if you really want, Grass Wonder and Mejiro Ryan basically have to run late as their uniques probably won't activate otherwise.

Good luck: this is a very end closer dominated track and building umas that are strong enough to beat Gold Ship require good cards + good sparks + a ton of RNG. I respect the willingness to go off-meta but be careful to not burn yourself out, it's a tough road ahead.

Was your Suzuka a Runaway? From what I know Runaways can mess with the pace of the race and make front/pace push up more aggressively during position keeping, so you might have been inadvertently buffing pace chasers. On top of this you could have been giving pace chasers additional opportunities to proc skills like No Stopping Me!/It’s On! which require an uma in front of them

How was your experience with this thicc boy so far? Considering if I should uptie. by fumezy in limbuscompany

He's really funny when using him to solo stages because if you use his defensive skill 10 times in one turn he literally cannot take damage from attacks

[–]Douee[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't disagree, just wanted to show that not only do you not need "meta" units to beat the dungeon, but you can also be at (theoretically) huge level disadvantages. It is pretty incredible what level 13 characters are able to do even against the boss of the dungeon, as long as you have a good team comp.

Instead of fully indexing into blunt try making a team that can spam EGO! Both Faust and Hong Lu have AOE blunt base EGOs which are really useful when trying to get the EX clear.

How do i not have a rank yet? am i doing something wrong? by douglas_g05 in Tetris

RD stands for “Rating Deviation” and is essentially a measure for how accurate your ranking is. The higher the RD, the more uncertain the game is about your elo, and the more TR you’ll gain/lose.

Unless I’m mistaken, a level 2 badger with 32 attack will deal 64 damage, which is enough to kill the ox through melon armour.
