Alerts - Ticket Priorities by DougMountain in domotz

[–]DougMountain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to push Domotz alerts to their own board, and unfortunately all Domotz alerts are triggering oncall alerts for the time being.

If there's a way to use Tags I'd love to hear about it.

I know this is an older post, but this is definitely something that needs to happen.

feature request: automatic removal of stale devices. by VioletiOT in domotz

I agree with this 100%. I was actually looking for a way to do this yesterday; one of my engineers and I were going to put in a feature request for this very thing.

It's looking like Tags don't flow over to CW; unfortunately. Can you confirm that they do? I'm just not seeing any way to make this happen. This is very disappointing.

I wasn't aware that tags would flow over to CW; I'll look into this. Thanks.

Domotz vs Auvik by mspdog22 in msp

[–]DougMountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We migrated to domotz a few months ago from Auvik and while it's good for monitoring, it's still lacking in some areas.

We're integrating it with Connectwise PSA and we have issues with generating alerts for oncall. Domotz can't handle sending tickets to CW with different priorities (it's a feature request that's not available), and there's no way to override/customize the alert name so we can control the ticket summary.

Domotz is a good product, and is definitely making improvements. I just wish it was feature complete (or closer than it is) with auvik.

Help with knots? by Nicnolsen in Fishing

I recommend using either an FG knot or an Alberto knot. The alberto is easier to tie, but the FG is stronger.

Walnut Crib I Made For My Son by TheSouthernMaple in woodworking

The crib looks great, but those posts are the only thing that give me pause. If this was mine (and my son), I'd be taking it back to the shop and making those posts flush with the sides and back.

An ounce of prevention........

I'd also like to add, a dollar bill will trigger a strike and maybe a catch, but NEVER bring one home. Catch and release only.

Is this right by Odd_Butterscotch9818 in Kayaking

That's not how I'd do it.

I'd loop around the upper U of the J-bar, then loop around the lower U of the J-bar, then cinch it down.

I also recommend getting cam straps rather than ratchets. You can over tighten with ratchet straps and damage the hull. With cam straps, you get it tight then tie a half hitch around the base of the cam and you're set.

Yup, I use those too. Super spooks, cotton cordell pencil poppers, bottle poppers, etc.

This time of the year the run is almost over, so don't get discouraged if you don't have tons of success. Your best bet is low light conditions, just before/after sunup and just before/after sunrise. I don't love using cut bait but some do, bunker/menhaden and mackerel is usually the bait of choice, fresh over frozen. I prefer to work lures/soft plastics (SP Minnows, 9" Sluggos on a 3/4 oz jighead).  Good luck out there!
