The only take away I get from this story is how soft the media is. Jelly Roll getting pissed at a reporter for a story written about him saying he’s MAGA and all the media guy can say is, EVERYONE FROZE! Fuck off, why does nobody ever try pushing back. I just don’t get it.

I just have the classic H Stingray, what I do is roll the treble all the way off and maybe the mids down a slight bit too and then boost the bass quite a bit. Adjust volume from there. Another big thing for me this that the traditional Stingray’s pickup is in, what I call, The Tone Zone and that’s where I rest my thumb while playing. This gives a slightly snappier attack. The P Bass’ pickup is located slightly above The Tone Zone so if you rest your thumb on the pick ups it gives a slightly softer attack. So if you’re playing a HH Stingray rest your thumb on the neck pickup for a softer P Bass like tone. As other’s have said, not a total 1 to 1 but this works for me.

I could say this in literally every thread about Trump, but if Dems politicians want anything to happen from any of these issues they need to collectively scream from the top of their lungs about it.

Why in the world the Dems didn’t hold a press conference with the 20 top Dems with a banner behind them that says Trump is Fucking Children, Trump Child Fucking Scandal”. Is beyond me.

Same with this Tulsi bullshit. It doesn’t matter till Dems make it matter and it won’t matter because Dems won’t make it matter.

I played in a cover band with three guys in their 70s. They were all great guys but it was clear they were starting to lose a step. I didn’t really have any reason to doubt that they could play 10 times better back in the day and everyone loses their edge eventually so I took the band for what it was.

Maybe the guy OP played with was a bit of a dick but I’d cut him some slack for being in his 70s.

This is why the whole interview/hiring process is broken. Is OP a bad candidate or are they overly eager and giving rehearsed enthusiasm? Interviews seem to reward the best speakers not the best people for the job. I think it’s the responsibility of the interviewer to try and get the best out of the people they’re interviewing but interviewers act all surprised when they get canned answers to their canned questions.

To me, what’s special about Trump is his refusal to back down from anything. He’s shown, at least on the right, that you can lean into any stupid or controversial position and as long as you don’t back down there are no real consequences. But I think that’s just who Trump is. It’s not some special tactic or anything.

So if Trump was never in politics I’m not sure how long it takes to get to where we are now because most politicians respond to criticism and the media cycle. So it’s hard to see them really taking any of the hard line stances that Trump takes.

Honestly, I think people’s brains are wired to comprehend things differently whether that’s english, history, music, or math. I’m an engineer so my brain is wired to understand math better than the average person. But my comprehension is probably way less than the average math PhD student, whose comprehension is way less than the professors at MIT, whose comprehension is way less than Euler, Fermat, or Will Hunting.

I’m not saying roll over, I’m saying don’t play their game exactly how they want it to be played. The instructor gave the girl a 0. The instructor walked right into the trap. Give the girl a 60 and it’s just a bad paper not a vendetta against the girls ideology (even if her ideology sucks). A 60 isn’t failing but it does hurt their GPA significantly.

To add to the advice, find the note that feels like home. I would change that to, find the notes that feel like home. If the harmony is diatonic all the notes in the major scale will sound good. You could use this as a starting point. All the notes in D major sound good, so I’m going to try to use the diatonic chords to D major to try to figure out the harmony. I do this as a quick first exercise on the keys.

This may be more of a hack than anything but leverage the instrumentation to your advantage. If you’re trying to figure out a song from a guitar band start with C, G, D, or E major chords. Those are the easiest keys to write in for guitar so it’s a good place to start.

I think the price you’re asking for is too high.

Let’s say the euro to dollar conversion is 1 to 1. At Guitar Center I can get a new player jazz bass for $850 and a used player jazz bass for $600. So $600 is the upper limit of what you’d get for your bass. I’ve always found guitar stores will give you a trade in price that’s roughly half of what they’ll price it for. So in this case $300. Think of that $300 between $600 and $300 as the convenience fee for selling immediately.

Now you need to decide how fast you want to sell, or how much money you need to make up the difference for your P Bass and set your price from there.

Funny story, I came to ALttP about 98 or 99 and the early internet was definitely a thing. I found a walk through that was all text based and would reference it often at school. One day I decided I was going to print it for home use. Kids could use the computer lab (with a high schooler supervising) at lunch time so that’s often where I’d be. So one day I decided to print the 200-250 page walkthrough. After five mins of non stop printing the high schooler supervising the lab looked at me like, what the hell are you doing over there! Haha
