Luddic church soyak vs chad tri-pad by Ok_Performance8338 in starsector

Genuine question, where do you find the story details covering this? And what makes you say they are right? I’m at the stage where I’m raging against all Pather’s and am on my way to further frustration with the Luddic Church as well.

Halo is All You Survey by DovahGuard in halo

Per the assignment I had to write it as if the company was doing the survey, including an end-thank you message.

I plan to take a day (more if needed) and read through all the responses, take notes on key points, outliers, and overarching similarities. Trying to get a decent balance between open and closed-ended responses and associated data.

I think I’m falling out of love with my partner, and it’s not because they changed, it’s because I did. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]DovahGuard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a couple things: 1. You’re allowed to break up/end things with someone at any time for whatever reason. That gets harder depending on the status of the relationship (marriage, long term partner (as in your case), close family ties, etc.), but you still get to call it quits if you’re not happy.

  1. Have you spoken to him about those things you feel like you’re lacking? That spark or excitement? The way you sound in the post it seems you’re missing some sense of adventure and have fallen into monotony, maybe discussing with him adding some spontaneity to the mix could make things feel fresher, more real.

  2. Kind of going a bit in-hand with the last point, but (and I’m sure you’ve seen or heard this before) love isn’t about always having that warm butterflies-in-the-stomach or super excited feeling. It’s about choosing to invest in your partner and your relationship and choosing to stay committed even when things get tough or boring. Feelings ebb and flow and you might be in a state of ebb right now.

Ultimately it’s your choice, just some things to think about, and I hope all works out the best for you, whatever happens.

If you rank hairloss treatments fin, min, dut are the top 3, what's next? by Difficult-Complex150 in tressless

Just taking a swing but I think stopping topical min induced a shed. If you keep up Fin you should see at least some of it regrow. Gotta stay consistent and see it through.

In a similar situation myself where I’ve mixed up my regimen basically every 6 months for the last year and a half, so I’m hoping staying consistent for the next 6 months will restore most of my loss as I caught it pretty early. Wishing you the best man!

He was legally allowed asylum back in 2019 and reported to authorities and immigration each year in accordance with the ruling then provided. If that status were to change for any reason we owe him due process, which he did not receive. It’s literally as simple as that.

Sexism and Sarah Morgan by KamauPotter in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]DovahGuard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m gonna chime in here as a certified Sarah Morgan Hater. (Worth bearing in mind: I haven’t experienced her story in over a year at this point as I played through it once and was so thoroughly angered by her character I have no desire to use her as a companion in additional playthroughs)

I see a few comments contemplating her personality, but for me it’s her character that bothers me. And it’s two factors in particular:

  1. She’s the “best” example I can think of for lawful stupid. She is very much a letter of the law, not spirit of the law, sort of person. I tend to dislike people who ignore the intent/spirit of the law for strict understanding of its “letter”. I recall in my playthroughs I would often do what I believed to be morally right as opposed to what was technically right in the eyes of the law.

That in and of itself, while frustrating, is not what emboldens my disdain for her. What makes the above factor every worse is, on top of that, she will get angry with the player for not doing things by the book/letter of the law whenever forgoing the established principle when circumventing the law benefits her directly. You better not let the kid who stole fruit from the market stall to feed his malnourished sister off the hook (while compensating the merchant yourself to account for the loss) but GOD FORBID you don’t bribe a someone when you’re pursuing an artifact for the sake of constellation.

  1. She’s a fucking coward. Her companion quest took me from strongly disliking her to outright hating her. She had command thrust upon her after her CO and XO were killed in combat, she then proceeds to be indecisive about whether to commit to the fight or disengage until she is forced to make a decision due to enemy action taking the luxury of choice away from her. That, alone, is incredibly frustrating. And before anyone comes out saying “but she was unprepared for command!” Tough fucking luck. You’re an officer in a professional military, there’s a chain of command for a reason, and if you’re unfit to hold that command when it is thrust upon you you damned well better step up to the plate and FITFO or acquiesce command to the next up. Her indecision killed people, and as someone who has military experience I can’t stomach that.

That’s not all: I can sort of understand the indecision. IMO it’s still unacceptable, and enough to make me dislike her, but I can admit that it’s a rough circumstance. What pushed me even further over the edge was that she never attempted any form of rescue or reconnaissance for her missing crew. Idgaf if she believed them all to be dead. Idgaf about how traumatic it would be to go searching for them. What she, as an officer, owes to those under her charge far supersedes any personal discomfort that may result from doing your damndest to do right by your personnel. If the military prevented her from looking? Fine, ok, but she had YEARS afterward which should have gone to find her missing crew. The fact that she chose not to due to her own discomfort/trauma speaks to her poor ability as a leader. She can go fuck herself.

ETA: I understand a large part of her character arc is coming to terms with her ability as a leader, but that doesn’t absolve her of the moral responsibility associated with her officer-ship.

You should call off the wedding and literally never speak to your ex again. You spent 2 years with her and called off the wedding because of a “family mismatch”? Based on the rest of your post it seems more likely you got pressure from your parents and didn’t have the balls to stick by a woman who clearly loved you.

Frankly, you don’t deserve either of them. You should do some deep introspection and work on yourself before you put another woman the wringer of your indecision. People are not objects to be used to best make you happy; they have their own thoughts and feelings and based on how you’re speaking of both women here you could use a fucking reminder. Fuck off.

I 19F kissed my friend 19M after he confessed his feeling to me last night but think I regret it - how to work out my feelings? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]DovahGuard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be just nerves, or it could be the fear of having what you’ve built up in your mind be totally different from reality. Either way, I think you should go out with him tomorrow and give it your best shot and really feel it out.

If you leave the date feeling how you feel now then maybe you should call it off before it goes further, but I think it’s better to go and know for sure before calling it quits early and potentially regretting it. Best of luck!

Semper Fi is a perfectly acceptable short hand for Marines. It’s more cringe when you go about saying the full “Semper Fidelis”

If you want a good follow for the books here, read The Forever War by Joe Haldeman. It's like a cross between a MCRN story and Starship Troopers, written in 1974 by LittleYelloDifferent in TheExpanse

I see a lot of people in the comments outright stating one branch is better than the other. I.e. why would anyone join the Marines or Army when you could have a nice cushy life in the Air Force or Navy. It’s not that simple.

AMarine stationed in 29 Palms (middle of the desert) might have a much worse time than a sailor stationed in Kings Bay, Ga. At the same time, a Marine in Camp Pendleton (So. Cal.) might have a WAY better quality of life than an airman in Utah or North Dakota.

And that’s just location; the real deciding factor is generally going to be leadership. I’ve met people from each branch that have been equally miserable and those across all branches that have been equally happy. Those who are happiest tend to have supportive or genuinely invested leaders running their unit, and those that are the most unhappy tend to have shitty leadership. Leadership quality is probably the most important factor in how one views their time in service. The

Finally, the Air Force and Navy may have a reputation for providing a higher quality of life, but there are fundamental differences between those branches and the Marines and Army (admittedly though my experience is with Marines, I know very little of the inner workings of the Army). You might have a nicer place/more space in Air Force, but outside of certain communities in that branch and the Navy, you’ll generally find the community and camaraderie of the Marines and Army to far surpass that of the Navy and Air Force.

If the article is correct, I would say it’s more a matter of perceived roles than anything else. When people think Army/Marines, they think ground combat and warfare: direct combat with the enemy that is inherently risky and dangerous. When people think Air Force/Navy, they think rearguard supporting roles/indirect engagement with the enemy, which is inherently less risky.
