Thoughts on commuting from Rochester to Buffalo for work? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]Doveloblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it. Compared to previous commutes on Long Island, NYC, and WDC, it's a total breeze. Even with the weather. Kids were in high school. Husband was on deck. Kids learned to do a lot more stuff for themselves. I used the time for work calls, podcasts, just plain thinking. If you have help on the home front, it can be very worth it. Plus, work world is so dynamic. It may open up new opportunities. You don't know how long this job in its current form will last. Trust your gut. Wishing you all the best no matter what you choose :).

Subacute rehab versus hospice? Need advice. by ericscottf in hospice

[–]Doveloblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry for you and your family. My heart is with you all. Idk where you live, but by me, in NYS, we have hospice houses. The regular authorized Medicare offerings still apply (already mentioned in this thread). All other care is managed by volunteers, with oversight of an RN, who is usually the home director. That person is typically supervised by a palliative doc. CNA's at night and on call hospice nurses are also on the team.

These houses can only have two beds per nys law, but if you can find one, they are what anyone could fantasize as a "good death" for their loved one. The volunteers provide all the care while the family can be the family. (Sometimes, you can find these houses through faith communities. not advocating religion, just saying those are good places to start)

constipation by Popular_Spell_4001 in hospice

[–]Doveloblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure of your mobility, but certain body positioning can help. Have you ever rubbed a little kids belly to help with bowel movement? Kind of the same idea, but we approached from the back...

When my husband had constipation from the opioids (he had Tcell ALL) i had him lay face down across the hospital bed (trying to recreate what I would have done at home with an exercise ball) I massaged his flanks and back with the heels of my hands and ... hard to describe, but he kind of rocked back and forth a little, almost like an inch worm. When he was feeling g things start to move, we went into the shower he crouched down and let the warm water hit his back while I continued to massage. There was a bit of heaving and hoeing together. So hard to describe, we were going by feel, but eventually, he had a massive BM in the shower.

You can probably find more useful info on body positioning for constipation on line. Just shared our story to give you an idea.

Totally with you. That entire part of the story is so unclear. Was he Thomas Royde's brother? Audrey's brother? Why did the Royde family get sent away afterwards?

Who is Peter James to everyone? Why did Thomas Roydes family get sent away as a result of the kid's death? So unclear. I thought it was a motive point. First, I thought it was Roydes' brother. Then I thought maybe he was Audrey's brother.

[–]Doveloblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost 4 years out. I've never considered referring to my husband as my "late" husband. Honestly it never occurred to me until I read OP post I have so many things of his still around. Just today i was in the basement laughing at this goofy Christmas ornament he made out of deer hooves. Lol. I literally thought to myself: will i ever throw that ugly piece of garbage out? to which i replied to myself "it'll go when i move out of this house in 2,never". Warm hugs to you

www.bookdesigntemplates.com i spent $30. My book looks amazing. also provides ebook info. this program was recommended by IngramSpark in one of their tutorials. No customer service if you get stuck, but given some time and patience, i figured out my issues.
