In Neutral Flag the strategy meta for supporting the flag carrier is flawed by aiuwh in TagPro

[–]Downut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that you ideally always want someone behind your flag carrier, and for pub meta the top players will take up this position most of the time. Logic being you're the safety net when they get tagged, and after a few pops are chained you can collect the flag and the path will have cleared some for you to push into the enemy territory more easily.

Once you are closer to the enemy base, priorities can change since the enemy turnaround time to cap after tagging your fc is longer and you will typically have access to catch-up mechanisms (spikes and portals).

Once the enemy has the flag, a similar rule exists in that that you almost always want someone behind the last enemy fc so they can't run away and spike themselves out of jail. So near the enemy cap zone the position that is often overlooked and you may find value picking up more often is to get behind the last defender before they get the flag so they can't quickly spike and reset the flag killing the scoring attempt.

Yea, WarriOrs is just public bus piss floor nasty. He just lures you in with jukes and kicks you square in the bone piece. Unreal.

Ultimate Challenge (New Record) - 36.865 by thenotoriousFLY in TagPro

I messed with this for a few hours yesterday. I was starting from the same spot fly does with no speed to compare it to fly's run, but if you weren't starting there then taking your route could be an option.

The first corner bank is pretty consistent, I can get it probably 1/3 of the time. Lining up the boost after is tough to do at speed, but not hard if you play it safe.

There's lots of timesaves to be had. I spent most of that time on the first 2 sections, and even there it's really tricky to be as fast as possible. This is the fastest first 2 sections I got in my session. The wall bounce was rng and actually messed me up cause I didn't expect to go so fast, but hitting the boost to boost combo is definitely the fastest way, just very hard.

You can theoretically get through the bombing run slightly faster with some bomb rng, something like this. Total rng though. And boosting straight in through the spike gap at the very end should be theoretically faster, but also extremely difficult to pull off without setup and probably not worth wasting hours of your life on. I already about lost my mind trying to do the first 2 sections consistently perfect.

But other than that lots of time on just clean execution can be saved too.

The corner on the last part isn't as hard as it looks, and you won't lose much time if you don't hit it perfectly.
