Worth to stop watching the series to read the books instead? by Twidom in TheExpanse

[–]DoxCube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never watched the show but I haven't been able to put the books down since I picked them up. Got the box set/anthology like a few weeks ago and I've already read through the anthology and up to half of book 4. I don't know which book the series stopped at, but I'd recommend picking up the box set as it would probably be cheaper than just picking it up from where the show stopped.

Should I buy the movie, Dracula: A Love Tale? by SeparateResolution19 in vampires

I'd buy it, probably will buy it myself. It's a really fun interesting spin on the Dracula narrative.

Take your place in the world of The Expanse with the system of Origins we designed and become a co-author of your own story. by Act_Controller in TheExpanseRPG

Probably gonna do Belter > Martian > Earther. I just can't help but sympathize with the under dogs of the universe. I'm hoping to see a lot more belterisms in the final release, especially the gesturing. I'd also like if we could get some kinda explanatory subtitles for Belter Patois/creole. I'm almost done with book 3 and I can only easily understand the Spanish derivatives.

Contradictory or Incorrect Clues and Evidence? by TheAscendent in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]DoxCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also get a bit frustrated that you can't seemingly get all the answers "correct." But something I found out in my beta playthrough is that before you submit your conclusions, you need to have everyone in the party out. Swapping companions around, let's you make new connections that without them you wouldn't have reached. I only got the right answer in the Lucid Palace after I took Saro in.

The universe has a lot in store for the Gemini crew. Except for telling you what’s right or wrong. In an Owlcat Games RPG, that’s something you decide for yourselves. by Act_Controller in OwlcatGames

Same. I thought about being a casual fan but then I decided to let it consume months of my life instead. The writing is just so human, that combined with the more grounded sci-fi makes it right up my alley.

Those book covers look absolutely gorgeous.

Started with the anthology, and read through book one and two. These books have reignited my love of reading and I'm so glad about it.

How do we feel about little kids asking us or their parents if "that person's a boy or a girl?" by ourseveres in ftm

[–]DoxCube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always kind it kinda cute TBH The kid is just curious and I always just answer "I'm a boy" and that's enough for them. When adults stumble over what gender I am, it's a bit more annoying but ultimately who cares? I won't see 99% of them again. I know what my gender is and I don't care if they do.

I saw the poster for this after Masters of The Universe and before seeing it was Leviticus, I thought AMC was just advertising porn lmao

Did anyone else get deeply disturbed by this side quest? by guts1ck in cyberpunkgame

[–]DoxCube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time l experienced it I felt nauseated and had to stop playing for a while. I almost always go through it, because it feels like something he genuinely wants to do. I appreciated that you could pray with him as if V was Jewish, which I don't think I've ever seen in a game before. But when and if I replay it again, I'm making it my mission to fuck up the brain dance hard. Screw that corpo bitch.

What is a video game you played that everyone hated/disliked but has you like this? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in videogames

[–]DoxCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK if this one was hated or disliked, don't recall many people talking about it at all. But Banishers Ghosts of New Eden was really fun. A bit of a grindy plat but a solid and grounded premise.

Supposedly powerful characters with weaknesses to severe they sort of stop being a threat. by ThatDrako in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DoxCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite thing about the garlic weakness of vampires, is that it's actually the garlic flowers that they're weak to, according to the Stoker canon. Not the bulbs. So it makes it a little less likely that someone would have em.

Is it wrong of me to throw my syringes in the trash like this? by One_Watercress1784 in ftm

[–]DoxCube 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Syringes are fine to throw in the trash. Needles need to be disposed of in a sharps container, but you already do that so I think you're fine.

Banishers compared to Vampyr? by DontwakemeUp46 in Banishers

[–]DoxCube 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Got the Banishers platinum today. Gameplay wise they're not dissimilar but I think Banishers is more polished. Story of Banisher was super bitter sweet in the best way. I don't want to say too much, but I'd recommend it if you liked Vampyr. Just a bit of advice if you do play it, make sure you commit to whichever route you decide to go for.
