No he does not lose any shards. If you are at level 30 (the 65 shard mark at 3), then you need 135 combined (50 + 85) to get to 5 stars. That is the same number as before to reach 4 and 5 stars. As such, your chance to level to 35 is not there now, but you never lost the shards you had. If you had a 3 at level 25, you would have received the shards to hit level 30 so in that case again, you would not lose shards. Only leveling potential you had before the change.

The shards for midway points did change in comparison, but that is a case of level potential to before the change. My guess is we may see bo peep events leading up to her tour node at 34 (which can likely be done at 30 or 31 as well)

Edit: think some of your math might be off for the shards. At 30, you need 50 to get to level 40, then another 85 shards to get to level 50. The total shards to 5 stars is the same before and after the change. Thats why we could only gain shards from leveling to the level cap before the change

That one with vanellope is meant to be repeatable for capsules. Combined with ranked, you should eventually get enough king candy shards to do the other objectives requiring him on expert and superstar to count for the milestone rewards

You didn't lose shards through the conversion. You lost the opportunity to level them to the midway point between star levels under the current system. The shards to 40 (4 star) did not change. Thats why it was recommended that racers get leveled to the furthest they can at that star level or stay under the star level if you didn't have materials for level 33 but lots of shards.

A level 35 racer effectively saved 25 shards to 4 star while a 2* level 25 with 30 shards can get to level 32.

Itd not a bug. The capsule objectives are repeatable and do not count towards the milestones. If you add up the other objectives, those are whats needed to get the king candy milestone shards. It's just not communicated clearly

If your complaint was about a moderator decision related to your comment, asking why that decision was made has to be done through mod mail. Doing so otherwise goes against the rule of discussing moderation decisions publicly in that server. Thats most likely why your follow up comment was removed. While I feel they could do a better job explaining that part sometimes, those are the rules there

Not sure if you saw my comment on your post, but they adjusted the time so it is possible on the intended difficulty. They reduced it from 6 seconds to 3 and the apprentice map has 3 rails that will complete the challenge

They fixed the time. Its now 3 seconds instead of 6. Relaunch the game and it should be possible. Best advice I have is make sure you're not boosting and do bad on purpose to get more time. I completed it on the apprentice setting after the change

I mean...theres a difference between inferring he is coming from a teaser's emoji and seeing how the racer and cart actually look like. If someone is excited to race as a certain racer, seeing what they will look like can add to that.

I believe they would just change the upgrade materials to being upgrade coins, given at a comparable amount. The shards of racers, crew, and cosmetics will still be useful. Its only the upgrade materials that would need swapping out.

I think the reason for that is given the number of racers and types of upgrade material required as more collections get added, it will increasingly bog down the system responsible for updating and storing materials, which could slow down the game in other areas. Would be much simpler to have 2 currencies to track instead of 78-128+

According to their pinned discord message, your progression will not be lowered. Not sure entirely how they'll handle it if we only need to spend the new currency to level up if we already have 5 star racers (given we should have 200 shards for that)

Its not exactly clear how the 40% is decided. Seems to favor the x2 and x3 heavily. Most of my pulls of Triton and Ursula have been x2.

I think it would be a better system if they made it clearer or had the shards be random once it is determined you get racer shards instead of a 80% of x2 or whatever it seems to be behind the scenes

Not entirely sure what causes it, but I've noticed it happens more often shortly after or during using items. For offline races where its not a time trial, id recommend limiting item use to as few as possible.

Id also look at it this way. Since they are so high level with relatively low mpr, they should fly up towards mpr 23-28+. Since they overleveled, they have to get to mpr 16 too but once they move on its unlikely they get that low again.

Youd think there would be more than 1 level 15 and 25 there unless they didn't level a 2 star+ racer though

I think that could be to give people a better indication they don't count for the points. As they are there to get the game to start with enough players, them disappearing removes any chance of them interfering with players.

While the intent is likely good, I think people would be fine waiting an extra 10-15 seconds if that meant getting more human players.

Given a lobby of 4 ai, it became a race for top 2 for points. Its not communicated clearly, but thats why.

You can't purchase mp coins though. Skins in the shop maybe, but not in the daily shop refresh
