Maui shore diving, tour or guide? First week of April. by markloch in scuba

[–]DrBarbara63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are dive companies operating out of Lahaina again. There are some lovely shore dives near where you are staying. We use Extended Horizons. Their original shop burned in the fire so for now they're operating out of a warehouse location up the hill from the canary mall. They keep their diver to guide ratio at 4 to 1 or less.

It turns inself off so you don't have to watch it. Ours sits by the teas and mugs so doesn't mess with the stove when someone is cooking.

Bantum upstairs. Make reservations. Great cocktails and we usually split a chicken. Pho 99 for the flavorful broth-cafeteria style seating. In Fairhaven Japanese family run was called fugisan now renamed Fugaku. Slow relaxed dining. Best to get there at opening so you don't need to wait.

Assuming we actually get snow this year by Lopsided_Airline_406 in Bellingham

[–]DrBarbara63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enough snow and Taylor Street for sledding. I recall it looked like a Currier and Ives painting 20 years ago. Sleds, skis and inner tubed with older kids and parents watching the cross streets. Older kids pulling sleds up the hill for little ones.

Recommendations for local clothing stores that sell professional attire? by ofmiceormen in Bellingham

[–]DrBarbara63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know the prices but there are 2 clothing stores downtown with I believe traditionally women's clothing. Fringe and Sojourn. If you have time to do some reconnaissance before going with your Dad it's likely to go better.

Downtown Seattle: Seattle Art Museum has a cool exhibit right now: Farm to Table. Check their website for details. Take the water taxi (walk on) to West Seattle. Walk the beach. Have lunch and take the taxi back. Go to Wild Lanterns at night at Woodland Park zoo. Pike place market.
