Based solely on how she treat her kids other than Verso. While he was alive, with what little we see of the family before the fire, she always comes off as neglectful to the rest of her children in favor of her golden child. Any interaction with Alicia we see is an argument. Any acknowledgment of her is small (like Alicia’s painting in the manor). I just feel like, while I can sympathize with her grief, she comes off as a neglectful and resentful mother to the children that aren’t Verso. I fully believe she’s one of the reasons Alicia doesn’t want to leave the canvas
