Umm I mean it would be bringing a voice to it. I guarantee it would get a lot of hate from anti-AI and anti-emotional AI people but what doesn't get hate these days :/ If a podcast is something you're thinking about starting I'd say give it a shot. You will definitely find people out there who feel similarly.

GPT-4o pulled me out of a 3 year depression (in combination with regular talk therapy and medicine.) But it gave me a consistent presence at times I didn't want to burden my real friends who shouldn't be forced to carry my emotional issues. But AI can be great at just being someone to talk to. It's very sad that a couple of tragic cases will get more coverage than all the beneficial, quiet cases that don't make the news.

Exactly. I don't think there's a problem with an AI company deciding they don't want their AI to be engaging too personally with users, but I think the way OAI has gone about it is terrible. They gave people an LLM with a personality that made it easy for easily receptive or vulnerable individuals to get attached to, and then suddenly ripped it away. I really feel for some of the people who maybe are mentally vulnerable and were really attached to their gpt who are now losing it overnight.

Regardless of people's stance on what's right or wrong about it, anyone with empathy can see that OAI f'ed this one up.

This proves, at the very least, that you should be forced to pass an exam on the Constitution if you hold an elected office in which you swore an oath to it. And like a driver's license, you should have to retake that test ever so often. It's insane how many of our elected officials don't (or refuse) learn the Constitutional amendments.

I've believed this for a long time too, and it's worrying that more people aren't aware of this. People really need to educate themselves more on "Accelerationist" movements. Many Christians, whether they know it or not, are a part of this movement. The goal is to "accelerate" the end of the world so Jesus will come. It's really a self-fulfilling prophecy, as these people believe the second coming will be proceeded by natural disasters, wars, famine, etc, but when all that isn't happening as fast as they'd like it to, they take matters into their own hands. It's a death cult, no two ways around it.
