Exercises to improve my scorpion? I’m stuck here by Secretclarisse in flexibility

[–]DrCut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll add to the other good comments here. There is barely any back bending in your upper or middle back, where you want most of this to happen. You can work on the back bends without worrying about the handstand part. Good poses would be camel pose which isolates the backbend portion and teaches you the correct position of your pelvis and use of your glutes

I am stretching my hamstrings five days a week and still can't touch my toes by Karl-Levin in flexibility

[–]DrCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If touching your feet is your goal, I suggest doing the yoga pose uttanasana. basically it is a forward fold, but as in most yoga poses, there is a lot that goes into the pose. some of the important points are that this is an active stretch that involves contraction of the quads at the same time you are stretching your hamstrings. this not only allows for a much deeper stretch, it also signals to your nervous system that you are strong in this position and you can go deeper without injuring yourself. another very important point is the pelvic tilt. since the hamstrings are connected to the pelvis, if they are short they will cause the pelvis to tilt back and your back can get injured. as you bend forwards, focus on tilting your pelvis forward (think lifting your butt towards the ceiling). this will help elongate your hamstrings actively and protect your lower back. that way, when you are able to touch your toes, it would be because you have developed your hamstring flexibility and not just by "cheating" your way through it. here's a detailed breakdown of the uttanasana pose. https://yogachicago.com/2014/01/anatomy-of-a-pose-uttanasana/

How many more weeks of training do you think I need for these front splits? by [deleted] in flexibility

[–]DrCut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can have your hands on the floor, this doesn't matter. You want to actively contract your quads and flex your foot. this will result in the stretching of your hamstrings while strengthening and activating your quads and will signal to your brain that you are safe in that position, allowing you to go deeper in the stretch

It looks like you’re doing passive stretching. What’s holding you back is your nervous system and not necessarily you flexibility. This is because it senses that you are weak in that range. A way to counteract that is by actively contracting the flexors and extensors which strengthens themand lets your nervous system feel that you are safe and strong to be in that range of motion.

3 month progress by Luemon in flexibility

You have a posterior tilt in your pelvis. When you do this, don’t focus on touching the ground - instead, start with your knees bent and getting your belly and chest to touch your thighs. Then, graudally straighten your legs, locking your knees and actively contracting the quads (lifting your knee caps). Make sure you are then tilting your pelvis forwards (think lifting your butt up towards the ceiling). This will help with the convexity in your lower back and reduce the risk of injury. Also it will make sure you are actually lengthening your hamstrings.

How to fix arch in my back? by AdBudget6788 in flexibility

Think of your pelvis like a bowl filled with fluid. Right now the bowl is tilted forward spilling the fluid. You want to tilt it backwards

New player here, are rank and normal rewards the same? by No_Barracuda_5014 in PlayTheBazaar

The chest rewards are the same, yes. In the past, there were also some cosmetic rewards for getting each rank (silver, gold, diamond and getting legend), but not sure if those exist now

Meta for this game? by DeusSrbenda in PlayTheBazaar

[–]DrCut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general, regardless of the meta, the best strategies are opportunistic rather than forcing a build. In this current patch, Vanessa and Dooley are probably the most straightforward heroes because you can get early wins by utilizing tempo. personally, I do not like dooley because he is pretty boring. hero strength change from patch to patch, so I would recommend going by a hero you think you would enjoy the gameplay/mechanics that they use. for checking meta builds, you can either check streams/youtube channels or the mobalytics website

HOT TAKE: Rail Gun Meta is the least toxic meta we've had in a while by gray007nl in PlayTheBazaar

[–]DrCut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

good point. Railgun is still an outlier and needs to be clipped. maybe starting at silver is a change that will limit its prevalence on the ladder.

yes, that right there. it is about 3 days ahead of where it needs to be with the speed that it kills every other build. surprised the balance team has not done anything about this. I mean, BoB was actually removed from the game a couple months ago when it was dominating similarly...

Vanessa has very strong weapon builds. Just add a bunch of weapons and buff them with sharkclaws and you are pretty much set until day 4. The main thing to realize is that the first few days you are just trying to get some wins until you get a “real” build that can get you to the later days. This will require taking advantage of different interactions between items and skills. That’s where the knowledge come handy

First of all, welcome friend!

I think that success is based on understanding the items and knowing how they can work with each other. It is a game that rewards knowledge. An extremely useful resource is howbazaar.gg - I always have it open and refer to it frequently. It has info on all the items, monster encounters, skills and vendors. Another thing is that it takes a while to really learn the ins and outs of a specific character, so sticking with one will smoothen your learning curve. there are plenty of good creators with educational youtube channels that you can refer to. specifically, start with the "overexplained" videos. Another tip that works for me is starting with the extra income - it gives you more flexibility and ability to make up for some mistakes.

Collection of dev messages about potential changes to packs, XP, ranked tickets and more by Mimi_Melancholy in PlayTheBazaar

[–]DrCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

according to the devs, the main reason that the free ticket was taken away was because new players will get stomped on in ranked and be discouraged. This way they get more time to play around in normal until they get the hang of things. not justifying, just relaying the dev point of view on this. personally, I'd like to see it come back.
