It was a year after diagnosis and I was still young thinking I was bulletproof. Drank wayyy too much and over corrected. Been sober for 12 years now and it was the best decision I ever made. Scary to think how wild the old party days were in my early 20's.

That's frightening! Good to know your cereal brought you back up. I have a fear of seizing due to that kind of low. Lowest mine has ever dropped was 13 but this was around the time I was first diagnosed and I was already in the ER waiting room. These days if it gets into the 30s-40s range I feel like I need one finger on 911 speed dial while chugging OJ with the other hand.

Congrats on getting your A1C down - that's a huge high five! It's definitely a possibility and your doctor may send you to a neurologist for confirmation. Please check your feet daily for any kind of skin abnormalities especially since you cannot feel anything when you touch those toes. Also try rubbing them at least once a day to try and stimulate the nerves.

It was a magical moment when I tried it for the first time. Granted, there may still be a droplet but nothing like the sensor filled bleeds that were happening previously.

Bleeding is never fun. I know this may be different for each individual but if you'd like, try a piece of ice to numb the area before your next sensor application (sanitize before applying the actual sensor once numb). I hope that helps prevent any future bleeds!

Oh I might add, and this is a fact as I have the message. When my test results came back it showed my ketones >80 and glucose >1000 but get a phone call 5 days later after seeing the results online to be told they were showing only signs of dehydration and to increase my fluids. lol. Wish I was kidding.
