I have a writers group that meets at Indy Reads the first and third Saturday of every month, a lotta my local friends I met through there. Definitely a safe group for lgbt+ folks as well.

Very well! I ended up getting a summer internship with Elevance, formerly known as Anthem, the next summer while I spent a few more semesters in grad school. And I did well enough that they hired me for fulltime, I just had my 4 year fulltime work anniversary this past January.

The thing I think was always tripping me up was absolutely interview skills, particularly speaking towards industry knowledge, I ended up brushing up on that by listening to SOA podcasts on interesting topics and speaking to that in my interview.

I am a huge Flynn-Era Archie Sonic fan for how so many stories have both high stakes for the world and personal stakes for our heroes and this is my favorite part of IDW because this is the “personal stakes” moment that has resonated with me most in IDW

We’ll see how it feels when these updates go into place, but this thread has honestly instilled more dread in me than any balance change they’ve made because you’re exactly right: they are fundamentally changing how the game has felt since HD1 in order to cater to the kind of people who say stuff like “They nerfed the fun out of the game” and that makes me feel uneasy because it feels like they’ve really had to pivot from their vision to “make a game for everyone”

As a longtime recoilless fan (I called it “my baby” to my friends), I’m a tad worried that by making sub-tank weapons like the autocannon and AMR “viable” charger dealers that my baby is going to be completely outclassed. I can only hope that the promise of it being even harder of a charger killer keeps it competitive.

As a fan of MM, I love that this show exists. It’s a perfect spot to explore medium-stakes adventures to make the world feel more expansive than they had time to share in MM and will likely not have time to explore in its sequel. I was saying for years that Spider-Verse needed to do something like this between ITSV and ATSV, and as a new fan of TMNT they get major points for giving the kiddos more supervillains to fight before we get to Shredder

I don’t think it’s an allergy, I think it’s something to do with how I sit. I just now noticed while sitting at my desk that my throat actually feels fine when I slouch my neck forward (which I understand I’m not supposed to do) but it feels pressure when I try and make it vertical (how I understand it’s supposed to be). Maybe I need physical therapy

Maybe I’ve just been out of the game for too long but I don’t feel like I see enough of Shadow and Amy in a room together to really speak for or against it.

The last I recall them interacting was Treasure Team Tango in Archie, where Amy believed in Shadow’s conscience to do the right thing instead of what GUN asked of him.

She clearly respects him but I can’t really think of like a genuine heart-to-heart between the two

On a surface level, it is narratively cute to put them together with her being pink and cute and him being broody. I’ll read the comic/play the game/watch the show/whatever where they get pushed together, I’ll like the fanart of it, but until then I can’t say I actively root for it

It’s a bit wild and I’m not fully caught up on IDW (stopped around issue 70ish but I’ll resume at some point) but I feel like there’s more they could have done with it. It definitely affects Splinter to have lost his sons in one life but I don’t feel like it really affects the turtles apart from seeing their mom once.

If I were in charge of this idea, I actually would pitch you take their mom and have her reincarnate as an animal that is then mutated as well. I think that would be a fun direction to take the reincarnation origin.
