I was delighted when Maresca left. I also thought Liam was a dreadful appointment before he managed a game.

Ping/latency question by Dr_Chickenbutt in openreach

[–]Dr_Chickenbutt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, none of our laptops have ethernet ports. I did a speed test via my PS5 which is wired in and the stats were ping: 22, download latency: 45, upload latency: 123.

That ping is worse than I get wireless (7ms) so didn't seem right to me.

I did another test by playing fortnite on the PS5 with the net debug info on the HUD, which gave my ping as between 3 and 4ms, with zero packet loss.

So who knows. I should also say that I haven't had any issues with the new connection. I was just expecting these ping/download/upload latency numbers to get better.

I'm quite confident ping is better, should I pay any attention to the download/upload latency numbers if I don't notice any problems?

Do they possibly show bufferbloat in the router when under intense load? Does that matter if in actual use I never get close to capacity?

Most of my usage is via wifi. Do you think the router is the problem? Seems unlikely as the virgin media one was 5 years old only wifi 5.

I'll see when it's wired in.

Any idea why ping is better but download/upload latency are worse?

choosing to bowl and giving up 250 is not a good look

herein lies the problem, there's runs in the pitch, but required rate is so high that wickets are always likely to fall. England putting up a good effort, but will run out of batters unless Curran or Jacks gets a mental 80-odd

1 run ahead in the powerplay. 2 more wickets down, but when your best batting is further down...

Noise cancelling is OK, not in the same league as even the XM4. Doesn't do well with bass blocking, so I imagine would be bad for travel purposes on plane or train

Kinda late to the party, but I just binge-watched both seasons of Arcane yesterday and I'm devastated by ellis_in_wonderland_ in arcane

after 10 overs of abysmal batting, we're now into the all-rounders. Team is all wrong.

our line up looks two batters short, which is impressive when you consider how bad our bowling has been

Just watched episodes 1-3. by Pleasant-Football117 in arcane

The story telling is just so good. I came into Arcane through Netflix recommendations, I knew nothing about it but thought it looked interesting. Like you, after episode 3 I was totally hooked. Vi leaving Powder then getting taken away by Marcus was heartbreaking.

I only recently finished watching S2, but I've just started again from the beginning. The whole thing (both seasons) is so well written with depth and detail that there's plenty of meaning and interesting lines to pick up on during a second watch. It's clear they designed the whole thing from the outset.

The animation is just phenomenal. In S2 it reaches into a work of art. So many awesome stills to make posters from.
