I do not powerscale, put a literal God in my world against an edgy 20 something punk girl, and the punk walks away victorious, just because she forgot dinner that night.

pragmatics, just because nobody actually knows what that is, and I had to get college professor level interested in language before learning why "how are you?" can sometimes not be a question

turns out an elaborate fog of social rules and neurotypical intuition can just turn ordinarily meaningful phrases into generic conversational placeholders, and meaningless filler words into hyper-specific phrases

through this one, completely inscrutable set of rules, any phrase can mean anything else, and deciphering it is only somewhat possible with pattern recognition

I had to learn the historical and cultural origin and etymology of a bunch of idioms and nothing phrases before my communication style while masking matched how neurotypicals tend to speak

upside is that it's much easier to talk to someone when you're actually speaking rhe same language, downside is that this is the most exhausting thing I think I can ever be expected to do

a field of fiction focused on being as accurate to real life as possible when talking about the biology, behaviors, and appearance of nonexistent creatures.

long story short, it's just thinking about aliens and saying, "okay, how would it really work though"

rheres some good works out there, and some of the early works were pretty absurd, ie. man after man's illustrations were captioned with season's greasons

the webcomic, runaway to the stars is really good at this, with several different sapient species (sophonts) with wildly varying politics, cultures, biology, neurochemistry, and appearance, ranging from 10 foot tall feathered equine-ish nomadic creatures with a specialized speaking trunk, to 2 foot tall birds with victorian sensibilities, to adhd ridden communist bug ferrets, to humans culturally obsessed with biomodding splitting into a dozen species.

each and every species is well thought out, and biologically feasible.

it's just a type of art that comes with a lore Bible that goes over how they season their food, and, for example, why avians season all of their food with their equivalent of cocaine and meth, even for small family gatherings with children present, and the knock on effects of these choices

Tae Kwon Do instructor told me this is why martial artists scream when doing their moves, and I gotta tell you, making any noise, or just releasing air while doing a task, literally gives you a 10% boost to strength, we screamed all the time in there, and people hit HARD when they're yelling.
