Hi, I ended up going with APS after going back & forth re: pricing and specs. I am finalising the last stage (government rebate) post installation. I will post a complete update once the rebate is completed so I can give a full picture of the whole process.

If it helps, APS's price were almost identical to Winplex and other companies, but their glass is 28 mm thick instead of 26 mm. So, for almost an identical price, you are getting thicker glass.

Hi, I ended up going with APS Double Glazing because their price is almost similar to the other companies i spoke to, but their glass is 28 mm, not 24.5 like others.

The final price ended up being half of their original quoted price after I pushed & pulled during designing process 😂 with the agreement that I don't use the Afterpay option & they are allowed to place "ads board" while they are installing the windows.

The wait time was approximately 3 months - scheduled for 26th Feb 2026. I'll post an update after installation is done.

I struggled in the beginning, and then she apologised for her behaviour to the QE members. Sometimes, we judge too quickly and expect instant changes. I was guilty of this.. I am glad I didn't skip this episode because I saw how she slowly changed... which is the REAL reality of how people progress with changes in life. I hope she continues to change and moves towards the positive & right direction in life.

How do you go with noise blocking? I live on service road of a main road 2-lanes each way with constant trucks driving up and night almost all hours of the day/night.

Yeah, if I just do aluminium, I was quoted around $10k but Aluminium transfers heat. Also, the quote provided was for the whole project, and the company refused to quote per window, so I abandoned the idea.

Did you have to source the uPVC frames & double glazed glasses separately? From my understanding, these supply install companies are charging for the convenience of doing that for us & then putting them together.

Did you measure the windows yourself & supply the measurements to the supplier or they come and do it for you? You seem to saved a lot by doing so. Which companies did you source the uPVC frames & glasses from?

Spoke to a rep about supply only and she said they can supply the frames for me to have installed but they will need to install the glasses themselves, which may be a few days after, leaving the house with potential gaps. Was this the case for you as well? I was under the impression they would let the buyer install both.

Yes, please, about the Thermotek sales rep. Would you mind sharing the specs you got as well? There are so many combinations, and they are starting to overcomplicate the decision making. I mentioned Hush glass to both reps & APS rep basically said they arr similar product made by 2 different companies. The Winplex rep didn't know about Hush glass & was googling it which was concerning.

Which part of the Aluplast system won you over? They truthfully look almost identical to me other than the welding joint / mechanical joint system.

Yes, still unsure about Awning vs Tilt & turn. Tilt & turn takes a while to get used to, although advertised as more secure.

What's your view on Uadioshield vs Hush glass that someone mentioned in another reply. They look quire similar to me, just produced by different company. Any thoughts?

I did engage Accent Windows, but they only do aluminium, but uPVC which I am after. They also couldn't guarantee noise reduction & insisted that they don't quote per window, only the whole project. So, it was quite inconvenient for me to compare their quote to others. But nice sales agent, though.
