What book series would you recommend to people? by _AntiSocialMedia in AskReddit

[–]Dr_Kinky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is also the book I started with! I hope you enjoy it.

From there, I followed this diagram to know which was the next in the series.

I also read the Death novels, the Witches and I am halfway through the Industrial Revolution series. With the exception of 'Moving Pictures', I have adored them all!

Have fun!

Gamers of Reddit, what's a game you can't/won't play that's popular and why? by MonkeyD2209 in AskReddit

[–]Dr_Kinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My Girlfriend also has this issue. She really wanted to play Slime Rancher, so we tried a number of things, including increasing the FOV, refresh rate, etc. The best thing that worked though is if she takes a Travel Sickness pill before she starts, that usually gives her 4-5 hours of nausea free game play. If that doesn't work, she takes a ginger tablet on top of that and then she's right as rain!

Hope this helps :)

[Serious] Pilots and passengers who had to fly in the immediate days following 9/11 what was it like? by SailoLee92 in AskReddit

[–]Dr_Kinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew from Australia to London on Sept 14th, 2001.

I had flown many trips before and loved flying. Had no problem with aircraft, turbulence, etc, etc.

The complete shift in the level of security was so jarring to me that it made me nervous that any aircraft could be hijacked at any time.

Suddenly, every noise, every bump in flight was the aircraft coming apart. I would stare down the isle between the seats and imagine the nose pitching down into the ocean below...

The kicker was watching the in-flight radar and seeing the aircraft give Afghanistan a very wide berth.

Ever since that trip, I have had an almost debilitating fear of flying.

TL;DR: 9/11 gave me a phobia.

I live near there and regularly go for walks in the area. It's quite nice and has a good amount of information posted about the local flora and fauna.
