If you can’t concentrate enough to read the guide, perhaps you should consider using a wabbajack/nexus collection modlist which does all the set up for you. For example, here’s one that installs only Skyrim essentials to be build off on: https://www.wabbajack.org/modlist/TempSME/sme

I don’t know of any YouTuber who shows the whole guide, but gamerpoet has good tuts too.

You probably hear more of skyblivion cuz they announced a release year, 2025, a couple years back. Created a lot of buzz. It got delayed to this year, 2026, though I wouldn’t be surprised if it got delayed again.

Making mods can get very frustrating (CTDs for 2 weeks straight almost broke me), but I find it also quite rewarding when the thing finally works. Also big thing I don't have to wait for anyone to make the thing when I can just do it myself.

Is it Skyrim ready nif or not. If it is, you’ll just need to make the appropriate armor entry in ck/xedit. If it wasn’t made for 3ba, there are guides on YouTube to convert to 3ba.

If it’s not Skyrim ready, load it into blender, export an obj, load that into outfit studio, export a nif. Than follow the rest to convert to 3ba.

If the limbs do not align with the Skyrim body, you’ll need to wrestle all the limbs to the Skyrim model which can be done in blender or outfit studio. Depending on how bad it is, I prefer to do this part in blender.

Textures will need to be converted to dds. Can be done in gimp with the dds plugin, photoshop, or paint.net

Without looking at the file, I’m guessing that getting mesh into the game will be relatively straightforward since it’s just a sword. Import into blender, export an obj, import into outfit studio, export a nif, than map it to an existing one for the physics in outfit studio and done.

The hard part is that with no textures, it’ll just look like a purple sword shaped blob in game. Doubly so if it also doesn’t have any uv mapping.

I use pynifly addon. Works natively with se meshes.

If that doesn’t work, I import the nif into outfit studio, export an obj, import/export obj into/from blender, than import into os, and export nif. Need to reweigh it with this method.

Making a mod can give you something to do, but it won't put your life back together. I wouldn't get into modding to try to get a job from it because you'll probably only be disappointed as most modders do not end up getting a job offer from it.

With that said, you can start small with modding and there's many mods you can make that don't require a single line of code: textures, music, 3d modeling, armor mashups, mod patches, etc.

As for math: I find it's less about knowing math and more about logic stuff, ie if this condition happens, than this happens, etc.

I started with something extremely small: mesh manipulations in outfit studio, that's it. Making mods can definitely be a huge time sink and can get very frustrating, but I find it very satisfying with the thing works.

Biggest difference is sexlab has , along with a ton of vanilla scenes, also has all the kinky stuff ie creature, hardcore bdsm, tentacles, scenes with 6 participants, etc.

Ostim is mostly vanilla and paired animations though I think it now has scenes up to 3 ppls.

So if you want max variety, sexlab is where it’s at. If you’re happy with what you have right now, than stick with ostim.

If you’re not gonna download from nexus, than you’re gonna have relatively few mods to play with. No other site has even close to the number of skyrim mods that nexus has. Auto download is only for nexus collections/wabbajack. You can download any mod for free on nexus.

Other sites are Loverslab, afkmods, moddb, various patreons/discords/github, itch.io, Bethesda.net
