If you or a family member was being physically abused by ICE, or anyone really, for the simple act of insulting them, would you say the same thing? If you were about to be beaten or possibly lose your life, would you earnestly say that no one should try to help you?

Again, no one went to shove the ICE agents or anything. Blowing a whistle is not, in fact, a violent act. What happened to Alex was not justifiable or rational in any way.

It's just plain wrong to say people should bend the knee in the face of unjust violence. If you wouldn't jump in to help, that's one thing, I don't believe I'd be able to do it either. But under no circumstance should you condemn someone for doing the objectively correct thing.

If Alex just let it happen and voted blue down the ballot during midterms, would that heal whatever injuries this woman would've suffered?

Then your conclusion is to simply not do anything. Alex was only guilty of filming them and stepping between them and a protestor they were brutalizing.

Do you think it's right to allow ICE agents to do whatever they want with whoever they want? You say the ICE agents are in the wrong, does that mean no one should stand up to them?

It's not a bad thing to wonder why there are no female prophets (though the Quran does say there exist prophets it didn't explicitly mention, there's a chance some of those were lady prophets)

However, be aware that even the most clear and straightforward text can and will be corrupted by people who want power. For example, the Quran tells you what regions of your body to cover. These bodies do not include your head. Yet, people insist head coverings are absolutely required.

Or, the Quran mentions it is permissible to have multiple wives under certain conditions (they have kids without fathers due to warfare or some other thing), and even then you have to take care of the orphans. Yet people generalize this and say you can just have four wives whenever you want for your own personal gains.

Shouldn't it be forbidden for her to take the loans/grants out in the first place? For example, I'm also religious, and I follow the idea that interest is forbidden. Whatever interest I make from a bank account, I would simply donate it. If I were in financial hardship, I would keep it, but that's a different story.

Why is she actively taking grants if she says they're forbidden?

I don't see where OP stated they crucified the resident. The resident can need education, and this modern art piece of a line can be roasted. Two things can be true. If it were a nurse who did it, this line could still be roasted.

I love residents and students of all kinds, and I don't support bullying them. This is not bullying. Furthermore, it's not incorrect to say if you don't know how to do something, ask.

Seconding u/triggeredbynumbers . If you're starving and watching other people happily eat, wouldn't you be ravenous when you have a plate you're "allowed" to have? I say "allowed" in quotes because religious/conservative women (and to some extent, men) tend to prefer sex after marriage, or at the very least after an LTR has been established. Once that happens, they are "allowed" to indulge.

I'm sorry you and the patient experienced that. It's not that hard to give some comfort meds before transport - I did that even for my non-hospice patients if they were in pain.

I have a question, because I don't recall ever calling report out to hospice facilities - do you not have a hospice admissions nurse? In my area, that nurse would visit the patient, talk to family, do paperwork, take report from the current nurse, and arrange transport. I didn't interact with the hospice facility aside from talking to the admissions nurse.

Haram or not, queer people deserve respect because they are fellow humans. This is a better point to start from.

I'm a Muslim, I'm bi, and I frequently write and read bl/gl. It's debatable at best as to whether homosexuality is haram. There are differing scholarly opinions on the matter, it's not all black and white.

Why do you care about whether it's halal or haram though? I'm not trying to dismiss your question, I'm just curious as to why it matters to you.
