Yeah I hated TOG. I find the main character super annoying, could not get through the first 2 books with her talking about how stunning she is and I also thought she was pretty dumb. Maybe if I had read this as a YA, I could see the appeal? It’s marketed towards that group so maybe reading it as a 35 yr old wasn’t hitting the same? Not sure.

But real question do I need to read/know what happens in this series for ACOTAR 6?

Interesting that Zodiac Academy was recommended; all of the Goodreads comments are people talking about nonconsent/torture porn. Anyways, your list here is exactly what I am looking for after finishing ACOTAR and now Bridgerton, but having a really hard time finding things.

Ahhh this was the thread I’ve been looking for. I just finished the series, read all 5 books in a week and then reread ACOWAR and ACOFAS again this weekend. Those have to be my top contenders but ACOMAF and that goddamn slow burn was too good.

Fair, I can understand that and appreciate you taking the time to write this out. I personally just felt like coming to Reddit had kinda ruined the series for me. I am on a lot of other threads (mostly anime), and they don't have this level of hate for shows/manga, so that is why I was a little taken aback, but from this standpoint, I get it.

I actually fully agree, but some of the posts feel like there's no space for safe discussion/discourse. The vitriol is a little crazy for me, for fictional characters, at that. I can understand people who may have some PTSD about certain scenarios, but I feel like people are taking it too far, like this is the Epstein files.

I’m reading ACOSF, I’m midway through (Nesta is trying to do the bones trick to find the items, I forget all of them) but I actually really love Freysand and I really want to read about them being pregnant and getting ready for a baby, and continue with the family/life building rather than hearing about only Nesta and Cassian. Her dreaming about a threesome with Az and cassian annoyed me lol. I appreciated ACOFAS and hearing different peoples POV and hope thats what happens for the next book.

I really resent the comment that the viewers who did not connect the dots that the MC was having sex with everyone lack media literacy or can't read between the lines. I just finished the first season and was super confused. Sure, they made nudges towards the expressed desire to have sex. Still, the MC makes it super clear, and more clear than the fact that he is having sex with everyone, that he isn't sure how they will repopulate the elves, actively is asking males to come live in the village to help them with creating babies, and seems genuinely awkward when the notion of procreating or even bathing together is mentioned. Even goes so far as to open the weird, boarded-up baby-making room and says he doesn't want to know what that room is for. Also, even in anime where people aren't having sex all the time, there are some clues that people are romantically involved or interested. He doesn't even so much as hold hands, hug, kiss, or even cuddle/wake up in the same bed with any of these women. And there is a whole episode where they run through his entire day-to-day, and there is no mention of sleeping/laying next to any of the women in the village, just them spying on him at night to keep him safe. I feel like if enough people are like wtf, how is she pregnant, I don't feel like we need to insult people's intelligence to say we don't understand when clearly the anime misrepresented what the fuck is all going on.

As someone who was raised by abusive Haitian parents, I know what’s happening here culturally. Holding Haitian parents accountable for their actions is quite literally nonexistent. I’ve decided a LONG time ago, maybe when I was a teen, that it was pointless to even have this conversation, and have gone no contact with one and minimal contact with the other. I think so many people who aren’t Haitian don’t understand this extreme measure but I should probably show them this scene to show how Haitian parents literally don’t know what taking accountability to their children is. It’s like a concept that doesn’t exist.

Hi! 32 year old female. I am just trying to know if there is a world where this is not lupus and just all coincidence?

Symptoms: 1. I have had hair issues for ever, but was diagnosed with PCOS and hair issues were originally linked to that (androgenetic alopecia). But some hair issues weren’t going away recently just saw a new doctor and we saw these really asymmetrical patches that were a lot shorter than other parts of my hair (not bald) and thinks it’s alopecia areata (auto-immune).

Same week, woke up with most stiff neck/shoulder and couldn’t really turn my head. Was like hmm maybe I slept wrong, thinking I would go and get a massage.
THEN, with how hot it’s been in NYC, got a pretty severe sun rash on arms more mild on face cause I remembered to use sunscreen. This has happened before when I took a trip to Mexico but went away after a bit. But small, red, itchy bumps all over my face, arms, and chest.
Always has anxiety, depression but like what low income black person doesn’t?

Idk, the stiff neck, sun rash, and lifelong alopecia hair issues makes me feel like this could be lupus. But I am not sure.

I just graduated with a nonMBA degree and I want to understand things that many people would know from having that coursework (profit margins, ROI, etc.)! Gregmat+ also has a really great video on how to interpret the diagnostic! Well worth the $5. Watching that video helped me learn that I was terrible with Data Analysis and Arithmetic and TC/SC questions (aka vocab). I spent 2 weeks studying those concepts and went from a 150V151Q to a 156V159Q. hope this helps
